Description
IRS examination project personnel analyze tax law and customer requirements, then , develop and update design documentation to meet these requirements. Contractor personnel utilize the design documentation to code and integrate updates for each of the RGS programs and new applications, such as the output data file for the examination operational automated database (EOAD). The majority of the windows NT programs are written in visual basic, with a few in C++ or visual C++, wrapped around embedded objects written in C programming language. These programs present a graphical user interface (GUI) and utilize MS access databases. The applications utilize data entered by download, transcription or user input and perform various required calculations and procedures to determine the correct tax liability and any tax deficiency interest or penalties that will be assessed. The integrity and correctness of data and calculations is of utmost importance to the RGS product and all the IRS users of RGS.
