About this award

This is a sole source 8(a) contract awarded by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to Tecport Solutions Inc., an Alaskan Native Corporation-owned IT services and consulting firm. The $3,687,378.40 firm-fixed-price delivery order was issued under the 8(a) STARS II government-wide acquisition contract vehicle.

The contract is for services to support DISA in achieving mission objectives while maintaining optimal performance of enterprise-class information technology initiatives. This includes understanding the current state, defining the future state, and charting a clear path for the initiative where all participants can see and understand the plans, roadmap, risks, and decision points. Given the cross-organizational and cross-functional nature of these initiatives, the contract will also require the contractor to help DISA leaders understand the roadmap and manage second and third-order effects in their own and partner organizations.

Description

Achieving mission objectives while maintaining optimal performance is an inherently complex endeavor in any environment but particularly so in the department of defense. In order to make lasting progress on any enterprise class information technology initiative IT is critical to understand the current state in detail, clearly describe the future state and chart a clear path where participants responsible for bringing the initiative to fruition can see and understand the plans roadmap, risks and decision points. Additionally, since enterprise class projects cross organizational and functional boundaries by definition, leaders must be able to understand the roadmap and be prepared to support, explain and manage second and third order effects in their own and partner organizations.
