About this award
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Electronic Systems Center awarded a $372,312 delivery order to The Boeing Company for computer replaceable units to support the Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) Internet Protocol Enabled Communication (IPEC) program. The upgrade, known as Block 40/45, completely replaces the old AWACS mission computers and operator consoles that have provided the on-board data processing and user interface for the past 30 years. The new open-system architecture uses network servers in a user-friendly operating environment to automate functions and improve computing power, helping operators process information more efficiently. Performance will occur in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma by November 2023. No set-aside designation was applied to this order issued against an existing IDIQ contract vehicle.
