Description
Grsm newfound GAP RD. Corridor management plan this project consists of the preparation of a CMP that will focus on management strategies to benefit the visitor s experience and allow the park to prioritize improvement projects based on strategic management goals within the corridor. The park s goal is to develop a CMP that would improve the livability along newfound GAP road by 1) continuing to monitor air quality; 2) continuing to monitor water quality; 3) suggesting enhancements to the downloadable audio tour guide; 4) developing a webpage for the byway for inclusion on the existing park website to provide localized information for travelers to this region; and 5) becoming more distinguished as a connecting byway between the communities of gatlinburg, TN and cherokee, NC. The CMP will be reflective of the vision for the corridor segment managed by the national park service, and the CMP will guide future stewardship and management as part of the scenic byway designation.
