The Department of Health and Human Services' National Institutes of Health awarded a $33.9 million firm fixed-price delivery order to Hensel Phelps Construction Co. under the agency's 2019 NIH General Construction Multiple Award Construction Contract indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract vehicle. Hensel Phelps, a subsidiary of the Hensel Phelps-Shimizu joint venture, will construct the NIA Alzheimer Disease Temporary Research Structure on the Bethesda, Maryland campus. Work will be performed over a thirty-two month period ending in December 2022. The delivery order provides for construction of a temporary research facility to support the National Institute on Aging's efforts to study and find treatments for Alzheimer's disease. No subcontractors or set aside designations were identified.
