The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) awarded a $20,469,289.00 delivery order contract to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) to serve as the Coordinating Center (CC) for the CORONARY ARTERY RISK DEVELOPMENT IN YOUNG ADULTS (CARDIA) STUDY. This study aims to assess the evolution of coronary artery disease risk factors in healthy 18-30 year old participants. The contract involves four field centers, a CC, four laboratories, and any ancillary study sites.
