The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, awarded a $1,592,330.00 firm fixed-price contract to Acrow Corporation of America, a small business manufacturer of modular prefabricated steel bridges, to deliver two prefabricated bridges for the National Science Foundation's Offload Infrastructure Project at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. The procurement was a total small business set-aside solicitation, with the bridges required to be packaged for shipment in standard 20-ft or 40-ft ISO containers and capable of being assembled and placed into service using load handling equipment with a maximum 5,000-lb lift capacity. Acrow has previously supported Department of Defense and civilian agency infrastructure projects through prime federal contract awards.
