Added: Jul 25, 2008 10:34 am VA Medical Center, Indianapolis, IN will be accepting sealed bids on or about August 11, 2008. This Invitation for Bid is full and open competition. NAICS Code 236220, size standard $31.0 mil applies. This project has a magnitude construction range between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. Contractor shall provide all tools, equipment material and labor to accomplish the following per contract drawings and specifications. Bids will be publicly opened at place and time to be specified in the invitation. The contractor shall provide all tools, equipment, material, labor, and supervision necessary to renovate the existing fifth floor east wing within Bldg 1, VA Medical Center, 1481 W. 10th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202. The reconstruction of the 5 East area (approx. 7150 SF) shall include the complete demolition of the existing area including the removal of all walls, ceilings, and utilities as well as the complete removal of all asbestos containing material (ACM) from 5 East. New construction shall include building 12 standard patient bedrooms, 4 Geriatric patient bedrooms, and two seclusion rooms, all with private batooms, along with a centralized supervisory nurse's station as well as support offices for VA staff and recreational space for inpatient use. The newly renovated 5 East area will need to be equipped with contractor furnished/contractor installed video and security surveillance systems to maximize patient safety and exterior windows will need to be replaced for security purposes. Phasing of all work will need to be coordinated with the VA Project Engineer. Work includes: General construction, alterations, mechanical and electrical work, plumbing work, utility systems, removal of existing structures, and construction of certain other items as required for provision of work and as covered within the contract drawings and specifications for all phases of work. Construction time allotted for all work will be 365 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Site visit information will be referenced in the Invitation for Bid (IFB). Questions concerning the solicitation shall be either mailed to the Contracting Officer or faxed to 317-988-1809. Amendments will be posted tough FedBizOpps. Bidders are advised that no contract will be awarded to any firm not listed in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database. Prospective bidders are strongly urged to visit the CCR website at www.ccr.gov to ensure all registration requirements are current. Solicitation will be issued on or about August 11, 2008.
