THE PURPOSE OF THIS PROJECT IS TO REMOVE 5.65 MILES OF EXISTING OVERHEAD ELECTRIC POWER LINES AND REPLACE WITH 8 MILES OF UNDERGROUND LINE; 6.33 MILES OF THE UNDERGROUND LINE WILL RESIDE IN NATIONAL PARK SERVICE PROPERTY BOUNDARIES AND SHALL BE FUNDED AS SUCH. THE NPS S SHARE OF THE COST COVERS THE PORTION OF THE LINE THAT TRAVERSES THROUGH FEDERAL LANDS WHILE THE UTILITY S SHARE COVERS WHAT TRAVERSES THROUGH PRIVATE IN-HOLDINGS. THESE COSTS INCLUDE ALL NECESSARY MATERIAL, EQUIPMENT AND LABOR TO BE PROVIDED BY THE UTILITY FOR THE DECOMMISSIONING OF THE EXISTING POWER LINE AND POLES AND THE DESIGN AND INSTALLATION OF THE NEW UNDERGROUND LINE.
