1) Develop a Schedule and Cost Proposal for Objectives #2, #3, #4 and #5. (2) Develop design for a Cobham Motor Electronics & Drive Assemblies to be integrated into the PIRPL IR Filter Wheel subsystem. (3) Fabricate prototype unit(s) sufficient to support integration and test events as well as final delivery. (4) Perform engineering design verification and engineering characterization tests sufficient to verify electro, mechanical, thermal, properties of the Cobham Motor Electronics and Drive Electronics sufficient to generate safety-of-flight reports. (Safety of Flight based on Cygnus interface control document/drawing (ICD); common Low Earth Orbit (LEO) payload electromagnetic interference (EMI), shock, vibration type requirements - Antares rocket). Also, assist NG in assessing optical performance characterizations (e.g. jitter measurements). NOTE: NG is responsible for overall PIRPL performance. (5) Risk reduction efforts; minimum electronics single event upset (SEU) radiation mitigations (identify other risk mitigation areas as discovered). The main tasks for the Supplier are the following: (1) Objective: Develop a schedule and cost proposal Develop a schedule and cost proposal for Objective #2 Develop a schedule and cost proposal for Objective #3 Develop a schedule and cost proposal for Objective #4 Develop a schedule and cost proposal for Objective #5 (2) Objective: Design Motor Electronics and Motor/Resolver Drive Assemblies. Develop Cobham Motor Electronics & Drive Assemblies Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM) as required to review design maturity (3) Objective: Prototype unit(s); Engineering, I & T and Final Fabrication Fabrication, Integration and test (I & T) of engineering and flight hardware Test report In factory support (4) Objective: Engineering Design Verification & Engineering Characterization Tests Perform engineering design verification and engineering characterization tests sufficient to verify electro, mechanical, thermal, and optical performance as well as sufficient to generate safety-of- flight reports. (Refer to Attachment 1.0 for list of test objectives and minimum requirements) Typical anticipated engineering verification and characterizations tests include: a. Balance (self-induced vibrations) b. Vibration Testing c. Thermal Vacuum d. EMI (emissions) e. Position sensing and assist NG in optical train characterizations (NG responsible for performance) f. General operational verification g. Power consumption / dissipation
