About this award
Goddard Space Center awarded a $51.5 million cost-no-fee definitive contract to The Regents Of The University Of Colorado on March 1, 2018, for the Global-Scale Observations of the Limb and Disk (GOLD) mission, with ultimate completion on April 30, 2029. No set-aside was used. The contract is a $51.5 million ceiling value, and the source reports no obligated amount.
The contractor supplies the personnel, materials, equipment, and facilities to accomplish the GOLD mission as described in the GOLD Concept Study Report. Scope includes reports, reviews, and documentation; management of the science team; maintenance of the GOLD Science Data Center at UCF; data reduction and analysis for three years after commissioning of the GOLD instrument; algorithm development; science planning; publication of results; and delivery of raw data and data products to an approved archive. Place of performance is Boulder, Colorado 80303.
Subaward records under this contract name Computational Physics, Inc. and the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees as recurring subcontractors, alongside additional university research partners, with work spanning science data center operations, algorithm management, and technical support for the University of Colorado's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics.
The Service Contract Inventory record shows FY2025 invoiced revenue of $4.2 million across 9.1 FTEs and 18,922 contractor hours, with six subcontractors carrying 32% of contractor hours. The derived government-paid rate was $219.84 per hour in FY2025, down from $244.73 per hour in FY2021; the source describes the trend as declining. Labor peaked at 16.4 FTEs and 34,269 contractor hours in FY2023. The awardee is reported as prime on its SCI rows. Rates are blended prime and subcontractor figures in years with subcontractors, and comparisons spanning FY2021 and FY2022 are approximate because FY2018 through FY2021 cover civilian agencies only.
