About this award

The Department of Agriculture Forest Service R2-Rocky Mountain Region awarded a $394,226.50 firm fixed price contract to Custom Design Fabricators, a small business, to replace two pipe culverts with bottomless arch aquatic organism passage culverts in the Medicine Bow Routt National Forest in Colorado. The replacement culverts are located at milepost 1.69 of National Forest System Road (NFSR) 500.1 on King Solomon Creek and at milepost 4.32 of NFSR 550.1 on a King Solomon Creek tributary. Due to timber sales in the area and access challenges, the contractor will need to coordinate closely with timber purchasers and the Forest Service. The period of performance is from August 2018 to September 2019. This contract was set aside for small businesses.

Description

This project will replace two pipe culverts with bottomless arch aquatic organism passage culverts. The first culvert is at milepost 1.69 of nfsr 500.1 on king solomon creek. The second culvert is at milepost 4.32 of nfsr 550.1 on a tributary of king solomon creek. Due to several timber sales in the area, and difficulty of detour/bypass routes, careful coordination between the contractor, timber purchasers, and the forest service will be required. Construction can reasonably be expected to commence at culvert 1 in early august, and end by september 30 at culvert 2 when snow can be expected. Contractor responsibility: the contractor shall provide everything--including, but not limited to, all equipment, supplies, transportation, labor, and supervision--necessary to complete the project, except for that which the contract clearly states is to be furnished by the government.
