Description

Policy analysis, safety analysis, technology transfer, future travel modes modeling. This task covers 3 areas of the nextgen effort: 1. Architecture modeling of the infrastructure and operations. 2. Safety analysis of the architectures and new vehicles and procedures. 3.future economic dynamics and technology transfer impacts. Architecture modeling of the NAS infrastructure, and operations will include generating future airline schedules and equipment mixes, assessing various economic and the associated policy implications and abstracting possible solution architectures and sensitivity analyses based on the jpdo enterprise architecture. Safety analysis of the proposed alternatives within the portfolio analysis will require coordination with the safety working group and a thorough understanding of ATM, airport, and aircraft performance/operations characteristics, past safety studies, and how technologies and procedures within nextgen alternatives will affect each. In order to assess the full lifecycle impact of nextgen research investments technology transfer impacts both into and out of nextgen will be required. Agent based modeling of the future economic dynamics and mode choices of the boomer, GEN-x, and millennium generations and how those choices will ultimately affect demand in the years 2025 and beyond will also be required. This work will coordinate with macro modeling of possible future world scenarios and how those societies will take advantage of various mobility technologies. The contractor will be working closely with other ipsa contractors under the same roles and responsibilities as the ipsa organization was structured in FY12. IT is understood that some tasks have overlaps in the modeling and that contractor may support complimentary tasks in modeling certain aspects of the national airspace system (NAS). Coordinate baseline capacity and demand parameters and data with ipsa team members and partners. Generate future airline schedules based on capacity/demand ratios for entire national air space system. Document NAS model parameter adjustments that reflect the modeling abstractions. Provide briefing and incorporate adjustments based on team/community feedback run baseline and scenario simulations within the ipsa modeling framework. Coordinate data inputs and outputs with appropriate subteams. Debug, rerun, test, and document simulation results. Provide detailed overview briefing of simulation outcomes.
