Description

Perform aero analysis of new pylon/pylon fairing design. Complete new pylon aero fairing shape design and perform related aero analysis to include CFD analysis that strives to minimize the affect, structural loads and structural fatigue, of supersonic flow issues between the POD and g-III structures. - current provisions shall be maintained to allow electrical lines to pass between the aircraft and UAV SAR POD. - design to a maximum dynamic pressure equivalent to 345KIAS and a maximum mach number of 0.85 - YAW stability shall be assessed. - pitch stability shall be assessed. - POD attachment structure shall have a cover over the pylon attachment cavity that can be installed when the POD is not on the aircraft pylon. - changes in aircraft performance post modification shall be predicted. Both POD on and POD off configurations shall be examined. - changes to the flight envelope imposed by static loads required to accommodate the aircraft modification, POD on and POD off, shall be computed. - aero loads shall be computed at each combination of airspeed and load factor on and within the boundaries of the giii design maneuvering envelope (v-n diagram). - IT is desired that the design envelope of the modified aircraft shall be shown to be outside the existing g-III flight envelope. - increases in maximum achievable YAW angles that may result from any destabilizing effects created by the pylon fairing modification shall be considered in YAW loads analysis and resulting aircraft speed limitations (e.g. VMA, and VMC). - if used, CFD models, including aircraft and POD geometry, used to predict aerodynamic loads. (format of CFD models and geometry TBD.) - a report detailing the aerodynamic, operations and performance changes to the aircraft caused by the pylon fairing modification.
