Description

"other functions" - the purpose of this order is to provide DE-installation, removal, recycling or repurposing of furniture, non-accountable property, trash and broom cleaning of space for two buildings that NOAA is vacating. These buildings are the world weather building (WWB) and airmen's memorial building (AMB). The government is moving from both of these spaces to a new location and is required to totally clean out the space before returning IT to GSA. The government must totally vacate the building by 9/30/2012. The governmnet is utilizing herman miller based on the furniture being from that company and they are providing buy-back credits (after IT has been offered to other state and federal agencies). Since this would result in a savings to the government, IT was in our best interest to utilize this program. In addition to the buy-back program, we are also using the repurpose program that they offer to donate many of these items to charites and other not for profit groups in the area. IT is anticipated that this contract will have at least a 95% diversion rate from local landfills as a result.
