Login.gov Project

GSA's Technology Transformation Service Login.gov Project is a civilian sub-agency office that procures and maintains identity verification and authentication infrastructure for federal digital services. The project has awarded seven federal contracts totaling $1.8 million in combined potential value since 2017, with $1.5 million obligated as of the most recent award in February 2020.

Contract activity peaked in 2017, 2018, and 2019 with two awards per year, declining to one award in 2020. No contract awards are recorded after February 2020, indicating the project's active procurement phase concluded over six years ago. The six distinct prime contractors awarded span a highly fragmented competitive base, with no single vendor dominating the portfolio. Contract awards split between open competition (four awards, 57 percent) and 8(a) sole-source set-asides (two awards, 29 percent); one small-business set-aside award (14 percent) rounds the mix. The agency obligated 81 percent of the combined potential value across these awards.

No recent federal contract opportunities are recorded against Login.gov Project, and no grant activity or grant opportunities appear in the source data. The absence of contract awards and opportunities beyond early 2020 suggests the project's current procurement focus, if any, operates outside the federal contract portfolio tracked in this digest or has transitioned to operational support under existing vehicles. A business development professional evaluating pursuit should treat Login.gov Project as a closed or dormant procurement phase and would need direct agency outreach to determine whether active solicitation or funding exists in 2026.
