About this opportunity

Santa Clara Valley Healthcare is issuing a Request for Information on revenue cycle solutions featuring AI-driven and systematic tools for medical coding support, prior-authorization automation, and billing denial management, with responses due August 31, 2026.

This RFI seeks vendor capabilities across three core areas. Systematic coding support solutions must enhance accuracy, efficiency, and throughput for professional and facility services coding; assist with charge capture, coding validation, and quality reviews; and reduce manual workflows while maintaining regulatory and payer compliance. Prior-authorization automation technology must automatically initiate, submit, and track requests across major payers, reduce manual staff workload, improve turnaround times, and flag authorizations prior to scheduling or service delivery. Billing denial management tools must identify potential claim denials (including coding-related denials) before and after claim submission, support automated or semi-automated appeal generation, and analyze denial and underpayment trends.

The RFI is exploratory in intent, designed to map available technology landscape and assess potential alignment with SCVH's operational needs prior to formal procurement. SCVH is motivated by increasing service demands and seeks solutions that streamline workflows and reduce manual effort across key financial and administrative processes. The information gathered will determine which vendor offerings warrant further review in a future competitive procurement.

SCVH is a county-operated health system in California. No contract value, incumbent information, or performance location detail is stated in the RFI notice.
