AMENDMENT 1
The amendment herein modifies the Drawings for the above project. The amendment only applies to the item(s) specifically as stated herein and shall be incorporated as clarifying and superseding project drawing set dated December 2018:
1. Operations Plan: Refer to project drawing sheet C-081 and related specification sections:
(a) On the drawing where barricades are shown across the access drive on the left side of the sheet intersecting active Taxiway ‘F’; delete the requirement for barricades.
(b) Under notes entitled Sweeping/Clean-Up; Delete Note (b), guards and logs are not required.
All persons working on this project shall however, be approved for access under other parts of the specifications and drawings.
(c) With regard to barricades/barriers; Furnish, install and maintain placement of low profile lighted barricades marking haul route from building 420 across the aircraft parking ramp to the access drive leading to the MSA gate. The Permanent Barricade referenced on the drawing are concrete Barriers that are already in place and Not in Contract (NIC). See project access drawing attached.
2. Under-slab perimeter insulation; Refer to project drawing sheets S-101, S- 111, S-502 and A-311 Sections 1, 2 & 3 & 7 and note 4.305: Furnish & install 2” thick extruded polystyrene rigid insulation around entire interior perimeter below grade from the top of footing to underside of new slab as shown in referenced details. Include minimum 2 foot wide by 2” thick extruded polystyrene (same as walls) all around interior “flat” under slab as shown. All of this work includes neatly cutting and snuggly fitting around column bump-outs for a neat unbroken and continuous perimeter insulation system.
3. Under-slab vapor barrier; Refer to project drawing sheets S-101, S-111, S- 502 and A-311 Sections 1, 2 & 3: Furnish & install 6 mil poly vapor barrier (not shown) over fill and directly below the new concrete slab covering the entire interior slab area – typical. Note; overlap poly roll material minimum 12” both laterally and at butt ends of rolls.
4. Water utility relocation; refer to project drawing sheet C-101 and others and Addendum-1: The existing water main is ductile iron 10” diameter serving fire suppression systems and delivering potable water. The contractor shall apply to Wisconsin DNR and pay fees for permit and resubmissions if necessary, to modify the water utility as shown on the drawings. The water utility, Madison Municipal will not normally perform work as a subcontractor but shall have oversight of this part of the work. The contractor shall coordinate with Madison Municipal as stated in the addendum and shall acquire services of a utility subcontractor to accomplish said work and pay all fees as may be required for inspection and oversight of the work.
5. Communication, DDC Security and Fiber; refer to project drawing sheet C-041, C-101, Addendum-1 and Amendment Drawing dated 12 February; Advantor is not a sole-source contractor for this work, see Note #5 on the amendment drawing. This work shall be accomplished by electrical and
W912J219B6004 communication trade experienced with fiber optic cable installations and connections and other low voltage cable systems. The intent of this work is to offset the existing cable and raceway system from the new building construction. In so doing, new conductors shall be withdrawn to the building 700 hub and re-run after revisions to the raceway are completed. This work shall be well planned, scheduled and executed efficiently and expeditiously for the least down-time of these services to adjacent and down-line facilities.
6. Specifications:
(a) Section 011000-1.6 Access to Site & 1.8 Work Restrictions: Access to the site may be limited due to operations within the MSA compound and aircraft movement by Dane County Regional Airport (DCRA) or Truax Field Operations. The contractor will not be able to work or receive delivery(s) on Holidays, weekends or “Down-Days” except for special circumstances approved by the COR. Down days may be a Friday and\or Monday, The contractor should prepare the progress schedule based on a four (4) day 10 hour/day work week, normally. The contractor will not normally be allowed to work before 6:30 a.m. or after 5:30 p.m.
(b) Section 015000-1.9 Temporary Toilet Facilities: The government prefers that the contractor not use a temporary toilet due to the restrictive nature of the site. The contractor will be allowed the use of sanitary toilet facilities located in building 700 without charge until such time there is discovered abuse or misuse of said facilities in which case, the contractor shall bear all costs of providing temporary toilet facilities.
