Q20: Can you confirm the size of the water main that needs to be relocated and if it is City of Madison or Private.
A20: It is a 10” DI main that serves fire suppression and potable water. According to records it was installed in 2006. Yes, it now belongs to Madison Municipal.
Q21: Is there a Geo Technical report or soil boring reports?
A21: No
Q22: What size diameter is the existing water main?
A22: 10”
Q23: Will there be enough room to get a live tap in between the 2 existing valves?
A23: Won’t know for sure until we can investigate.
Q24: Addendum-1 paragraph 3 states live taps. I only see 1 tap and 1-90 degree cut in.
A24: We will amend this item. Our preference is to keep the water main live throughout the project however; in this case it would be more practical to lay the pipe, shut the water off for perhaps 1 or 2 days, cut the existing main and make new connections. We can use the water for flushing and fire suppression, but not potable, while we sterilize the system.
Q25: Addendum-1 paragraph 3 also states corporation stops. Those typically are for smaller services. Is this corporation stop referring to DD water boxes on valves?
A25: This is incorrect – no corporation stops.
Q26: This being a cold storage building, I assume there is no water, sewer or drains servicing this building. Is this assumption correct?
A26: Yes.
Q27: What is required for all DDC comm devices? (wire type, size and conductor count)
A27: See amendment-1 posted 14Feb19
Q28: Are we responsible for any of the supervised system work, including install of cables and terminating devices? Item 6(f) is misleading stating “work shall be under the direct supervision of, and work performed by: Advantor systems”.
A28: See amendment-1 posted 14Feb19
Q29: What are the fiber counts going to each building?
A29: See amendment-1 posted 14Feb19
Q30: What type of fiber? (OM3, OM4, SM)
A30: See amendment-1 posted 14Feb19
Q31: After reviewing the documents, we have determined that we would be unable to intercept the pipes if they are to remain operational throughout the project. This means we would have to core into each manhole multiple times. Is there enough room in the manholes for this?
A31: See amendment-1 posted 14Feb19
Q32: Section 260913, Part 2.3 (A) 1 – references section 264313 “Surge Protection for Low-Voltage Electrical Power Circuits”. I am unable to find referenced section. Please provide.
A32: This does not apply to our project. All of the low-voltage systems are already in place and we are re-wiring the infra-structure. The new building does not have DDC or communications. If alarmed that will be by others outside of this project.
