Text version
Q14: The plans and specs call for no heating and cooling, but we are a little confused about it be a cold storage building and no specs for cooling.
A14: I know what you mean. Cold Storage simply means NO HEAT in this case. No AC either.
Q15: PLEASE PROVIDE PROPER PROTOCAL FOR SIGNING INTO THE FENCED IN AREA AT THE PROJECT LOCATION THAT WAS MENTIONED AT THE SITE VISIT
A15: Access to the site will be addressed in the forthcoming amendment. The bid opening will also be pushed out by at least a week depending on when the amendment is posted.
Q16: WILL ALL CONTRACTORS BE REQUIRED TO BE ESCORTED TO THE PROJECT SITE UPON ARRIVAL TO THE GATE?
A16: Once inside the MSA compound everyone (including me) is logged-in and escorted. See answer #2 above.
Q17: PLEASE PROVIDE WORK HOURS FOR THIS PROJECT
A17: See answer #2 above.
Q18: PLEASE PROVIDE LOCATION OF STAGING / LAY DOWN AREA FOR MATERIALS. SPECIFICATIONS MENTION CHAIN LINK FENCE, PLEASE CONFIRM IF REQUIRED.
A18: See answer #2 above.
Q19: The specs require an FM 1-90 rating. They also ask for translucent light panels in the roof (these would be a standard metal building light panel). These panels do not carry an FM rating. The question is: Do you require an FM rating on the light panels or will that be waived for that product?
A19: It is not likely we will waive the requirement entirely because of this buildings location on the airfield. We may accept a lower rating but there must be some data by which we can evaluate the panels’ ability to withstand uplift pressures. If it is impossible, we will determine that through the submittal process, at which time will decide how to approach the challenge.
