About this file
The document contains two bonds (Payment Bond and Performance Bond) and a Guarantee form for a construction contract with the County of San Mateo, California, identified as Job Order Contract (JOC) 25. These documents are standard legal instruments that provide financial protection and quality assurance for a construction project. The bonds are designed to guarantee payment to laborers and materials suppliers (Payment Bond) and ensure faithful performance of the contract work by the Principal (Performance Bond). The accompanying Guarantee form commits the Contractor and Subcontractor to repair or replace any defective work for a specified period after project completion.
The bonds specify that the Principal and Surety are jointly and severally bound to the County, with the total bond amounts left blank to be filled in later. Key provisions include the Surety's obligations to pay claims if the Principal fails to do so, and to cover the contract work if the Principal does not perform as agreed. The Guarantee form requires the Contractor to repair any defective workmanship or materials within a specified timeframe, with the Owner authorized to make repairs at the Contractor's expense if they fail to do so within seven calendar days of written notification. These documents provide financial and quality assurances typical in public works and construction contracts.
