QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
The following are answers to questions received from potential offerors. The answers provide clarification only and do not constitute an amendment to the solicitation.
QUESTION: Specification 909, various
1.
1) Paragraph 3.1.2 states there are 7 transducers with domes but paragraphs 7.2.2 and 7.2.3 state 4 domes. The referenced Docking drawing Plan indicates 6 domes and a large fairing. Please clarify the number of domes to be addressed. If it is just 4 please indicate which domes are to be removed and re-installed.
2) The referenced drawings in paragraph 2.0 do not give a clear indication of the domes, transducer installations and the type and configuration of the hardware that is to be replaced in accordance with paragraph 7.2.5. Drawing 184-5503747 identifies hex head bolts ranging from ¼”-20 to 3/8”-16 then moves to ¾” – 10. There is no indication of any monel ½”-13 x 1-1/2” long counter sunk head screws being used. Please clarify the paragraph 7.2.5.
3) Paragraph 7.2.6 states to cover the domes. If they are removed why is covering necessary?
ANSWER:
1. There are seven (7) transducers of varying style, Listed in 3.1.2.
2. This is a Historic docking item. I cannot verify if the fastners listed are correct or the listed reference.
Price the spec as written, any discrepencies will be addressed through Change orders.
3. The Domes are coated with the underwater hull though they cannot be sand blasted or Spray painted as referenced in 7.2.6 and 7.2.7
QUESTION: Specification 706, various references.
2. Please provide missing references listed in paragraphs 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 and 2.8.
Reference 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 and 2.8 was sent via DoD Safe via download Zip File titled “References 700 – 900.” Bidder has confirmed receipt.
QUESTION: Specification 904, various
3.
1) Item 904 paragraph 7.3.8 references Item 911 for the preservation process. WI 911 is the drydocking extension and is a “B” item. Please clarify the paragraph.
2) Paragraph 3.2.2 calls for 12 detachable links. Paragraph 3.2.4 list 20 as the quantity of detachable links. Please clarify the quantity of detachable links.
3) Paragraph 5.3 and 7.1.2 indicates residual liquids, muck, mud and debris to be disposed of. Please provide an expected amount of each.
1. Should be work item 0103.
2. Twenty (20) for the detachable links.
3. Sumps are currently inacceable. Assume 1000 gallons for pricing.
QUESTION: Specification 613, paragraph 3.1.1.28
4. Paragraph 3.1.1.28. Is from frame 220 to frame 30 correct?
Frame 22 to frame 30.
QUESTION: Specification 707
5.
1. Please provide reference 2.1 Kongsberg Hipap 502 Maintenance Manual
2. Reference 2.2 and 2.3 does not show any details of the Hipap units or the Hipap wells. Please provide additional drawings.
3. Paragraph 7.1.8 What are the size of the valves. Provide valve details.
References are sent via DoD Safe.
QUESTION Specification 613, paragraph 3.1.2/7.1.14/7.1.23
6. In Item 0613 paragraph 3.1.2 states (7) toilet & showers spaces at 32 sq ft each which is (7) joiner panels and paragraph 7.1.14 states to remove (6) additional joiner panels and paragraph 7.1.23 states a additional (6) joiner panels.
Can we get a clarification on how many joiner panels we are replacing and how many are going to have stainless on one side with laminate on the other side and how many have laminate on both sides.
There are 9 heads listed and in diagram provided. Not all the panels are full 4 by 8 pannels. Some will need to be cut to fit and there will be unsualble drops. There are approximately 140 pannels, and 7.1.14/
7.1.23 are for additional scope if required. Stainless panels are the shower walls(3 in each head) and will need to be laminated on the opposite side. See revised work item 613.
