QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS #10
The following are answers to questions received from potential offerors. The answers provide clarification only and DO
NOT constitute an amendment to the solicitation.
QUESTION #1:
Will you be issuing an updated J-4 form to include the GFM amended on WI 1001?
ANSWER:
Revised J-4 for the change in GFM for WI 1001 was provided via ARMDEC.
QUESTION #2:
For Revised work item 501 has valve removal, testing, partial renewal scope added to the existing Firefighting work item.
Reference 2.1.11 provided does not list any of the valves listed in para. 7.10.1.
Please provide correct reference for procurement of the six new valves listed in 7.10.3.
Additionally, contractor noted that many of the valves listed require scaffolding to access which was not identified in the work item.
ANSWER:
I will refer to a new drawing that is similar to dwg 521-7488717. The new drawing contains a Symbols list (521-8387099) that drawing 521-7488717 did not divulge.
In drawing 521-8387099, under the Symbols list (sheet 17, B136), the symbol for all of the valves below, indicate “Butterfly, Wafer, Electric Motor Operated”. This type of valve is represented as the 3rd valve from the top in the Symbols list.
Locations of the valves are found in the following sheets (can be found in both drawings 7488717 and 8387099):
FM COV 2-39.5-1 Sheet 8 (location 59B)
FM COV 2-48-5 – Sheet 8 (location 60B)
FM COV 2-57-7 - Sheet 8 (location 57B)
FM COV 2-64-1 – Sheet 8 (location 62B)
FM COV 2-65-1 – Sheet 8 (location 62B)
FM COV 5-39-4 - Sheet 5 (Location 35C)
FM COV 5-48-4 – Sheet 5 (Location 36C)
FM COV 5-58-2 - Sheet 5 (Location 37C)
FM COV 5-59-2 - Sheet 5 (Location 38C)
FM COV 5-64-2 – Detail 29-A (Location 28A)
FM COV 5-64-22 - Detail 29-A (Location 28D)
FM COV 5-65-16 - Sheet 5 (Location 38C)
All piping connected to the valves are 400mm piping, thus all valves are 16 inches. Specifically, all piping connected to the valves are labeled “400FM03-001”. When referring to the Schedule Material chart, found in Sheet 17, this will tell you the description of the 16” butterfly valves in a FireMain (FM) system.
Assume, Scaffolding will be needed for access to these valves…
Government will revise WI to add scaffolding and new drawing reference. (Rev3)
