NOTE: Larger drawing sizes may be generated in accordance with ASME Y14.1.
2.1 Continuation sheets: When AF Forms 1653 through 1656, and larger drawing formats sizes as defined in ASME Y14.1, are used to prepare multi-sheet drawings, and the forms are generated in a CAD system, the minimum title block described in ASME Y14.1, may be used for continuation sheets. All other features of the AF drawing forms, such as border, border sectioning, revision blocks, etc. are included. Identification as a continuation sheet is indicated by adding “(Continuation Sheet)” following the form name centered in the lower margin (i.e.
ENGINEERING DRAWING LAYOUT D (Continuation Sheet).
3. Drawing Form Signature Block: If a contractor activity is creating the drawing, the technician (Tech) and Checker (CHK) blocks shall have the contractor’s employee’s names inserted. If a government activity is doing the drawing, the Technician and Checker block shall have AF employee’s names inserted. The other four blocks will always have AF employee’s names. The “Air Force Authentication” block shall have the Engineers supervisor’s name inserted. Names shall be printed on the drawing form in the appropriate blocks.

13. Saving Air Force Drawings: The file naming convention shall be the drawing number indicated on the drawing in its entirety, without the X prefix (as mentioned in paragraph 3), including any applicable unique prefix identifier, such as PL (when applicable), then followed by the sheet number beginning with one (1) and continuing for additional sheets using consecutive whole integers, then by any applicable revision letter all separated by an underscore character.
The file extension is then added on last, such as .dwg for native AutoCAD files. Include the unique suffix identifier (formerly called the dash number), only if it is actually part of the drawing number. For raster files (such as .tif) that are delivered in frames, the frame number shall be indicated by the letter “F” and the applicable frame number beginning with one (1) and continuing for additional frames using consecutive whole integers. This shall be inserted between the sheet number and the revision letter using an underscore character before and afterwards. There shall be no more than one underscore character in the filename consecutively.
