About this file

Exhibit A-1 is a terms and acronyms reference document for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Transportation Management Center (TMC) Operations Contract solicitation (DOT-RFP-26-6202SD-REBID). This document provides standardized definitions and acronym translations used throughout the solicitation exhibits and contract documentation. The exhibit defines key operational terms such as "Comparable Size and Scope," "TMC Operator," "Consultant," and "Maintenance of Traffic," establishing consistent terminology for contract performance and evaluation. The reference includes definitions related to Department business hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, with the TMC operating 24/7/365), observed holidays, deliverable submission protocols, and letter of authorization procedures. The document comprises seven pages containing two primary tables: one defining approximately 18 key terms essential to contract operations and another listing over 150 acronyms commonly used in ITS and transportation management systems documentation.

The acronym table encompasses technical terminology across multiple operational and technical domains, including ITS infrastructure (CCTV, DMS, MVDS, VDS, WWVDS), operational systems (ATMS, ATIS, FMS), incident management protocols (ICS, NIMS, RISC, TIM), technology platforms (SunGuide TMC, RRDIS, SELS), regulatory frameworks (NIMS, OSHA, ADA), software and technical standards (SQL, XML, HTML, CSS, AJAX), and FDOT-specific Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG) across multiple functional areas including administration, arterial operations, control room operations, express lanes and ramp signaling, incident management, IT services, ITS utility locates, public information, and road ranger contract management.
