About this file
This is a Bid/Proposal Bond Form required by the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) for the Construction Management At Risk (CMAR) Terminal Restroom Modernization and Other Improvements Project in California. The bond serves as a financial guarantee that the bidding principal will execute a contract and required performance bonds within thirty days of award. The form establishes a joint obligation between the principal and an authorized California surety to ensure compliance with the bidding process and contract execution requirements for the design collaboration, design assist, preconstruction, and construction services related to terminal improvements at Ontario International Airport, including restroom modernization in Terminals 2 and 4, hold-room enhancements, and other facility improvements.
The bid/proposal bond amount is set at ten percent (10%) of the aggregate bid amount. If the principal fails to enter into the contract or execute required bonds within thirty days after award, the obligors agree to pay this amount as liquidated damages. All signatures on the bond must be notarized with corporate seals affixed by both the principal and surety. The surety's attorney-in-fact must attach a power of attorney from the surety company. This bond requirement may be waived if the bidder submits a certified or cashier's check with the proposal in lieu of the bond.
