About this file
This document is a Standard Bid Bond form for a contract opportunity with the Commonwealth of Virginia and George Mason University. The Bid Bond guarantees that the contractor will not withdraw their bid during the specified period following the bid opening, and that if their bid is accepted, the contractor will enter into a formal contract and provide the required performance and labor/material payment bonds. The Bid Bond also states that if the contractor withdraws their bid or fails to execute the contract and provide the required bonds, the contractor and surety will be liable for the difference between the contractor's bid amount and the amount the University may contract with another party. The surety represents that it is legally authorized to conduct business in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The document outlines the standard terms and conditions of the Bid Bond, including the obligations of the contractor and surety. It does not provide details on the specific products, services, or project scope associated with the contract opportunity.
