DELTA 2 TRAINING SUPPLEMENTAL PRACTICAL EXERCISES

PRACTICAL EXERCISE (PE) OVERVIEW
1. Directions to Students
a. Perform the following mission: Enable and perform simulated engagement operations and real-time surveillance operations using the IBCS and CWMI.
b. Perform assigned tasks and procedures given by the instructor.
c. Use TMs, Student Guide materials, and notes when performing exercises.
d. Safety Precautions:
(1) Remove all jewelry—including neck chains.
(2) Remove power from equipment during assembly and disassembly procedures.
(3) Obey all applicable cautions and warnings.
(4) Use the proper tools for the task.
(5) Use the Buddy System when working on energized equipment.

2. Practical Exercise Execution
a. By performing the exercises, students learn the following tasks:
(1) Set up the EOC Mast
(2) Perform TOCNET and SPARK procedures
(3) Perform IDD procedures
(4) Perform Neighbor Management and Network Pruning
(5) Perform Gateway Transition
b. Evaluations are conducted on individual and team participation when performing exercises.

PE 01: SET UP THE EOC MAST
Evaluation
The PE validates the ability of the student to set up the EOC Mast.
The instructor performs a progress check on each student to ensure that proper actions are taken during the practical exercise (PE). At the end of the exercise, the instructor marks the PE
“GO” or “NO-GO.” A NO-GO assessment results in retraining and re-evaluation.
Directions
● Follow the instructions given in the Student Guide.
● Perform proper procedures indicated by the instructor.
● Follow procedures exactly, unless the instructor states otherwise.
a. Start up the Generator
b. Start up the PDISE
c. Set up the EOC Mast
(1) Install Payload Adapter Crossbeam
(2) Install Lightning Rod
(3) Install the Beacon
(4) Connect the HRFU cables
(5) Install HRFU radio to adapter
(6) Install adapter to mast
(7) Guy the mast
d. Raise the EOC Mast
(1) Perform Cable Management
(2) Extend the Mast
(3) Tighten the Guy Ropes

PE 02: PERFORM TOCNET AND SPARK PROCEDURES
Evaluation
The PE validates the ability of the student to operate the TOCNET and Spark.
The instructor performs a progress check on each student to ensure that proper actions are taken during the practical exercise (PE). At the end of the exercise, the instructor marks the PE
“GO” or “NO-GO.” A NO-GO assessment results in retraining and re-evaluation.
Directions
● Follow the instructions given in the Student Guide.
a. Perform TOCNET Procedures.
(1) Log in to the SoftCAU.
(2) Add an asset to the main screen.
(3) Remove an asset.
(4) Place a call.
(a) Use TOCNET to call a VoIP.
(5) Answer an incoming call.
(a) Receive a call from a VoIP.
(6) Coordinate with other EOCs via voice.
(7) Transmit and monitor on a channel.
b. Perform Spark Procedures.
(1) Log into Spark.
(2) Establish communication with other EOCs.
c. Using either TOCNET or Spark, acquire all Hardware IDs for all equipment assigned to the battalion.

PE 03: PERFORM IDD PROCEDURES – INTEGRATED DEFENSE DESIGN
Evaluation
The PE validates the ability of the student to perform IDD procedures. During this practical exercise, the student produces an IDD plan with the indicated resource laydown.
The instructor performs a progress check on each student to ensure that proper actions are taken during the Practical Exercise (PE). At the end of the exercise, the instructor marks the PE “GO” or “NO-GO.” A NO-GO assessment results in retraining and re-evaluation.

● Follow the instructions given in the Student Guide.
a. Using New Plan, create a new plan with the following parameters.
(1) Name: <Last Name>_2020
(2) Destination: Save to Delta2 Folder
(3) COCOM: NORTHCOM
(4) Zoom to region: Yes

b. Create an Area of Interest.

c. Create a Task Force Area.

h. Using the Flight Path Manager, assign 1 threat from each TAO to an asset.

i. Emplace the following equipment inside each asset following the fiber limitation 1 km from EOC or Relay.
● The minimum distance equipment can be emplaced 120 meters in front of the sensor.
● A relay must be emplaced no less than 1500 m and within 180 degrees of RS coverage.
(1) Alpha battery at asset Tac2 with 1 EOC, 1 Sensor, 6 Launchers
(2) Bravo battery at asset Dog with 1 EOC, 1 Sensor, 6 Launchers
(3) Charlie Battery at asset LC37 with 1 EOC, 1 Sensor, 6 Launchers
(4) Delta Battery at asset Tula with 1 EOC, 1 Sensor, 6 Launchers
(5) HHB at asset 90133 with two EOCs
j. Apply proper naming convention to equipment based upon unit.
k. Assign five “tbmthreatset" to each Sensor.
l. Assign an appropriate PTL that targets the threats.
m. Using the comms manager and resource connectivity, ensure sensors and launchers are connected to the appropriate EOC.
n. Using the communication manager and tools available to establish an effective network using a maximum of 10 relays.
o. Use the bearing search to discover a valid location to emplace equipment.
p. Use the placement tool to discover possible locations between two points.
q. Verify connectivity using the Network Evaluation Tool.
r. Complete the Authority Tab with the appropriate information for your battalion.
s. Complete the Task Force Configuration Tab with the appropriate information for your battalion.
t. Complete the Hardware ID tab with the information for your battalion.
(1) Input Link 16 information for each EOC and Relay.

PE 04: PERFORM IDD PROCEDURES – COMMUNICATIONS
Evaluation
The PE validates the ability of the student to perform Communications, IDD procedures.
The instructor performs a progress check on each student to ensure that proper actions are taken during the practical exercise (PE). At the end of the exercise, the instructor marks the PE
“GO” or “NO-GO.” A NO-GO assessment results in retraining and re-evaluation.

a. Using the communication manager and tools available, establish an effective network using a maximum of 10 relays.
b. Use the bearing search to discover a valid location to emplace equipment.
c. Use the placement tool to discover possible locations between two points.

PE 05: PERFORM IDD PROCEDURES – TASK FORCE CONFIGURATION
Evaluation

a. Complete the Authority Tab with the appropriate information for your battalion.
b. Complete the Task Force Configuration Tab with the appropriate information for your battalion.
c. Complete the Hardware ID tab with the information for your battalion.

PE 06: PERFORM NEIGHBOR MANAGEMENT AND NETWORK PRUNING
Evaluation
The PE validates the ability of the student to perform Neighbor Management and Network
Pruning tasks.
The instructor performs a progress check on each student to ensure that proper actions are taken during the practical exercise (PE). At the end of the exercise, the instructor marks the PE
“GO” or “NO-GO.” A NO-GO assessment results in retraining and re-evaluation.
Directions
● Follow the instructions given in the Student Guide.
a. With guidance from the instructor perform Network Pruning.
b. Select Roles as S6.
c. Click the Network manager.
d. Click the Network Control.
e. Select the Appropriate EOC.
(1) Using the battalion layout, modify the neighbor list so the two closest neighbors are the highest priority.
(2) Set all other neighbors to the lowest priority. Do not use -2.

PE 07: PERFORM GATEWAY TRANSITION
Evaluation
The PE validates the ability of the student to perform Connectivity between the ADSI and the
IBCS system.
The instructor performs a progress check on each student to ensure that proper actions are taken during the practical exercise (PE). At the end of the exercise, the instructor marks the PE
“GO” or “NO-GO.” A NO-GO assessment results in retraining and re-evaluation.
Directions
● Follow the instructions given in the Student Guide.
a. Go to the plan settings in the Home Tab.
b. Verify Task Force JU matches the information assigned to the ADSI.
c. Perform a Gateway transition following the steps listed in the Student Guide for Delta.
d. Perform the steps needed to relinquish Gateway control.
