Question: Belden panels are specified in the Statement of Work. Are substitutions allowed?
Answer: Per SOW, Belden or equal are specified.
Question: After reviewing the changes in the RFP, it appears that the only thing that will be going through the new 3” cores between the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors will now be the fiber. Is it still necessary to core the new 3” conduit between the floors? Can it be smaller? Or, is it necessary at all? Can we run the fiber through the existing 3” core, since the old cable will be removed when the job is completed, leaving only the fiber?
Answer: New 3” cores are no longer required. Contractor can use existing 3” core for new fiber. Contractor is still required to firestop existing cores after install of new and removal of old cabling.
Question: What is the order for the ceiling tile replacement? Is the ceiling tile job being done before or after the cabling? Will we still be responsible for replacing damaged tiles if the replacing is being done after the cabling job?
Answer: Ceiling tile will be done concurrently with cabling. Once a room is turned over to contractor, contractor will be expected to remove existing ceiling tile, install new cabling and replace ceiling tile.
Question: In what format do we submit spec sheets for substitutions on the CAT cable?
Answer: Contractor to submit product data sheets for all materials. Use attached transmittal sheet for submittals (PFOIL 342 Material Submittal)
