About this file
This is Addendum 2 containing Questions and Answers for RFB DOS 2025-03, issued by the New Hampshire Department of Safety for the IPOC Building UPS Replacement project. The project involves replacing a UPS system with a 200kVA capacity unit supporting 480 VAC loads. An optional site visit was scheduled for December 9 at 10am, during which bidders were expected to gather necessary technical information about the facility's electrical infrastructure and requirements. The state did not engage an engineer for project design specifications, instead relying on the site walkthrough for vendors to determine specific requirements.
The state is open to various distribution cabinet options including single output with terminal block wiring, panelboard with breakers, or adjustable subfeeds, leaving it to vendors to propose the best solution based on their site visit assessment. Contractors must meet New Hampshire electrical licensing requirements, and out-of-state corporations can bid after registering as a Foreign Corporation in New Hampshire. The addendum clarifies that specific details about breaker requirements, downstream panels, and electrical infrastructure would be determined during the site visit.

# Page No. Section No. QUESTION ANSWER 1 General Question I am curious to know if these are the only docs that have been prepared so far? For instance, if an engineer was engaged for project design typically, they would provide a full spec which lays out all the needs in detail. Additionally, there is typically a one line diagram of the building power so we can start to understand the current electrical infrastructure of the facility and determine what may be needed to accommodate a 200kVA UPS system.
No engineer was engaged. The state believes this information can be determined during the on-site walkthrough.
2 General Question I understand that there is an optional open site visit scheduled for 12/9 at 10am. Is the expectation that all potential bidders will obtain any necessary information on that day?
Yes
3 General Question How many breakers are required, and what size should they be?
We are expecting 208/120V from the distribution cabinet.
This can be determined during the on-site walkthrough.
4 General Question Regarding the distribution cabinets, we have three available options. Could you please confirm which of the following options would the customer prefer?
Option 1: Single output, single block wired to terminal in building (no panels, no subfeeds).
Option 2: Panelboard that can be populated (a panel with breakers; an electrician will run the circuits from breakers to rack level).
Option 3: Subfeeds only, adjustable from 100A to 250A (up to 4 subfeeds available).
The state expects the vendor to propose what they believe is the best solution. The state believes vendors can determine what option is best during the on-site
