Demolition drawings AD103, AD104.1, AD104.2
REPLY NEEDED BY:
1. Drawing AD104.1 & 2-Terrazzo flooring was noted under existing VCT in various rooms during site visit. Terrazzo wall base appears in many rooms. Will terrazzo flooring under the VCT remain?
2. Drawing AD104.1 & 2-Does the 4th floor have 2-3” of lightweight concrete throughout over structural concrete floor?
3. Drawing AD104.1 & 2-Clay tile walls with terrazzo base which are scheduled for demolition typically bear on the structural concrete. Will the depressions left from all wall demolition require concrete floor infills?
4. Drawing AD103- are there any plaster ceilings above ACT ceiling on 3rd floor that will require removal for access? If so how many sqft.?
5. Drawing AD103- Keynotes Y3 and Y4 require wall demolition on 3rd floor. Are all walls clay tile on 3rd floor? And if so can they be patched with steel stud and 5/8 drywall?
REPLY:
1. Terrazzo/topping to remain and be patched as needed as noted in Demolition Note 11 & 17. Terrazzo base is to be removed.
2. From original construction documents, there appears to be 1” terrazzo/topping on the structural deck.
3. As noted in Demolition Note 11 & 17.
4. Where ceiling tile is noted to be removed, plan to remove plaster ceiling in addition to ACT ceiling as needed to access, remove, reconfigure, replace plumbing.
5. It is believed most walls are clay tile. Steel study and 5/8” gypsum board infill are acceptable and as noted in the specification for specific finishes.
