About this file
This is a Minimum Insurance Requirements document issued by the Broward County Transportation Department for the Transit Bus Stop ADA Improvements project funded through the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The project involves furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, tools, services, and incidentals required to install Americans with Disabilities Act compliant landing pads and transit amenities at bus stop sites throughout Broward County. Major work components include installation of transit amenities such as benches, trash cans, and bike racks, along with construction of required sidewalks, bus stop landing areas, and curbs. The contract is structured as an open-end agreement, and vendors must submit responses electronically through BPRO by specified closing dates. All vendors are encouraged to submit required and optional documentation in advance of the deadline to enable timely and comprehensive review by the County.
The insurance requirements mandate that contractors maintain General Liability coverage with minimum limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate, Auto Liability coverage with $1,000,000 combined bodily injury and property damage limits, and Employers Liability coverage of $1,000,000 per accident. Professional Liability coverage of $2,000,000 per claim is required for all engineering, surveying, and design professionals, with maximum deductibles not to exceed $100,000. Broward County must be named as an additional insured with primary coverage, a waiver of subrogation applies in favor of the County, and the contractor is responsible for all deductibles. Thirty days' written notice of cancellation is required, or ten days' notice for cancellation due to non-payment. For Claims-Made policies, insurance coverage and evidence must be maintained for at least three years after project completion.
