About this file
This document provides the solicitation for a construction project to stabilize the Alcatraz Wharf located in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The project will repair and seismically strengthen the historic concrete wharf built in 1939, including repairing steel-cased concrete piles, beams, and slabs in fair to poor condition. Two new seismic resisting elements will be installed to bring the wharf up to Risk Category III standards. Concrete repairs and seismic improvements will occur in a single construction phase. Proposals are due by May 4th, 2022 and should be submitted electronically to the National Park Service contracting staff. The evaluation factors include key personnel, project experience, technical approach, schedule, management and safety, small business participation, and past performance. The award will be made to the best value offer considering technical merit over price.
