140P2020R0054 Amendment 04 Questions & Answers
Q: Can the contractor use the grassy area (circle) by the hotel? i.e.: staging area for materials.
A: It is park property but is not to be used officially unless properly coordinated.
Q: Has Hotel been brought on-board regarding vibration monitoring?
A: King Christian Hotel is agreeable to inspection conditions. Vibration monitoring requirements are in Specifications (if hotel allows it). Hotel is a project stakeholder. Coordination will be necessary during construction phase.
Q: “What if the hotel does not allow it?”
A: Park has an agreement with them. Note, only certain machinery is allowed. There is ongoing transparency with the hotel.
Q: On the Pricing Schedule where Lump Sum prices are listed, how are monthly costs to be handled on payments?
A: There are two things involved: The Pricing Schedule is to list the Firm-Fixed amount for the whole project by item. In the outworking of the project the invoicing will be based on completed work for the invoice period. For details of payment see Clause 2.232-5 PAYMENTS UNDER FIXED-PRICE
CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS.
Q: The West end is challenging, busy at the hotel and service across the way for drop off and pick-up.
Will there be access to the corner?
A: Accommodation will be made as best is possible. It is Park Property. It is a matter of communication.
Q: It is very busy now and it is out of season.
A: There is an agreement for boat (ferry) operations with the Park; they may have to move their operations.
