About this file

This document is an Attachment C to RFP 24-25-31 detailing insurance requirements for the City of Santa Clara, specifically for Silicon Valley Power's Underground Locating & Field Marking Services contract. The City is soliciting proposals for a 5-year agreement for underground locating and field marking services, with the final award contingent upon the selected firm accepting the city's exemplar agreement. The contract will be awarded through an online submission process via BidNet Direct, with electronic responses required.

The insurance requirements outline comprehensive coverage specifications, including Commercial General Liability Insurance with $5,000,000 limits across multiple categories, Business Automobile Liability Insurance with a $1,000,000 minimum limit, and Workers' Compensation Insurance with $1,000,000 policy limits. Contractors must provide proof of insurance from carriers with an A.M. Best rating of at least A- VI, maintain additional insured status for the City of Santa Clara, and ensure primary and non-contributing insurance coverage. The city reserves the right to withhold payments for material non-compliance with these insurance requirements and mandates that subcontractors adhere to the same insurance standards.
