Connect GovTribe MCP to Microsoft 365 Copilot
Add the GovTribe agent from the Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent Store so Copilot can use GovTribe data and tools in conversations.
Use the GovTribe agent in Microsoft 365 Copilot when you want Copilot to use GovTribe data while it answers questions, researches opportunities, reviews vendors, or prepares public-sector market context.
GovTribe is added through the Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent Store. This is a published-agent setup, not a developer MCP setup. You do not need to paste the GovTribe MCP server URL or create a GovTribe MCP API key for the Agent Store setup.
For general Microsoft 365 Copilot agent behavior, see Microsoft's Get more agents in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app and Agent Store in Microsoft 365 Copilot documentation.
Before you start
You need:
- A GovTribe account with access to GovTribe MCP.
- GovTribe credits enabled for your account. See Credits if the GovTribe MCP page says credits must be enabled.
- A Microsoft 365 Copilot account or organization that allows agents.
- Access to the Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent Store.
Some organizations require an admin to make an agent available before users can add it. If Microsoft 365 Copilot shows Request approval instead of Add, send the request to your Microsoft 365 admin.
Add GovTribe from Agent Store
Open Microsoft 365 Copilot and add GovTribe from the Agent Store.
Open Microsoft 365 Copilot. Sign in to Microsoft 365 Copilot from your Microsoft 365 account.
Open agents. In the left navigation, select Agents or All agents.
Search Agent Store. Search the Agent Store for GovTribe.
Open GovTribe. Select the GovTribe agent to review the details pane.
Add the agent. Choose Add. If Microsoft shows Request approval, request approval from your Microsoft 365 admin before continuing.
Sign in to GovTribe if prompted. Sign in with the GovTribe account you want Copilot to use.
Allow access if prompted. Follow the GovTribe authorization prompt to allow Microsoft 365 Copilot to use GovTribe.
Start using GovTribe. Open GovTribe from the agents list and ask a small test question before using it for larger research workflows.
What Copilot can do with GovTribe
The GovTribe agent lets Microsoft 365 Copilot work with GovTribe public-sector data from a Copilot conversation. Use it for questions such as:
- Find federal opportunities related to a market, agency, keyword, or vendor.
- Summarize a vendor's recent federal contracting activity.
- Compare agencies, vendors, awards, or opportunity activity.
- Review government contracting signals for a Microsoft 365 document, briefing, or planning workflow.
GovTribe MCP usage is credit-based. If you do not use the GovTribe agent, it does not consume GovTribe credits.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | What to check |
|---|---|
| GovTribe does not appear in Agent Store | Search for GovTribe from All agents. If it still does not appear, your Microsoft 365 admin may need to make the GovTribe agent available to your organization. |
| Microsoft shows Request approval | Your organization requires admin approval before you can add the agent. Submit the request from Microsoft 365 Copilot or ask your Microsoft 365 admin to enable GovTribe. |
| Copilot asks for an MCP server URL or API key | You may be in a developer or custom-agent setup instead of the published GovTribe Agent Store listing. Return to Microsoft 365 Copilot Agent Store and add GovTribe there. |
| Copilot asks you to sign in to GovTribe | Sign in with the GovTribe account you want Microsoft 365 Copilot to use. |
| GovTribe stops working after it was added | GovTribe credits may be disabled, the authorization may need to be renewed, or your Microsoft 365 organization settings may have changed. |
