Connect GovTribe MCP to ChatGPT

Connect the GovTribe app inside ChatGPT so ChatGPT can use GovTribe MCP in conversations.

Use the GovTribe app inside ChatGPT when you want ChatGPT to search GovTribe data during a conversation. The app can help with contracting research, opportunity discovery, vendor analysis, and market review without leaving ChatGPT.

Before you start

You need:

  • A GovTribe account with access to GovTribe MCP.
  • GovTribe credits enabled for your account. See Credits if the GovTribe MCP page says credits must be enabled.
  • A ChatGPT account or workspace that allows apps. Some Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces require an owner or admin to make apps available.

You do not need to create a GovTribe MCP API key or paste the GovTribe MCP server URL for the ChatGPT Apps directory setup. ChatGPT connects to GovTribe through the published GovTribe app and GovTribe authorization prompt.

For general ChatGPT app behavior, see OpenAI's Apps in ChatGPT documentation.

Connect the GovTribe app inside ChatGPT

Open ChatGPT and connect the GovTribe app from the app directory.

Open ChatGPT settings. Open Settings in ChatGPT.

Select Apps. Open the Apps area. If Apps appears in your ChatGPT sidebar, you can select it directly instead of opening Settings first.

Find GovTribe. Browse or search the ChatGPT Apps directory for GovTribe.

Select GovTribe. Open the GovTribe app detail page inside ChatGPT.

Review the app details. Confirm you are connecting the GovTribe app.

Start the connection. Choose Connect.

Review the add-app prompt. Review the Add GovTribe to ChatGPT prompt.

Continue to GovTribe. Choose Sign in with GovTribe.

Sign in to GovTribe. Sign in if prompted.

Allow access. Follow the GovTribe authorization prompt to allow access. If you are already signed in and access was previously approved, ChatGPT may return directly to the GovTribe app page.

After the connection is complete, ChatGPT shows GovTribe as connected. Choose Start chat to open a new ChatGPT conversation with GovTribe already attached to the composer when that option appears.

GovTribe is then available from ChatGPT conversations. Add GovTribe from the app picker or mention GovTribe in your prompt when apps are available.

What ChatGPT can do with GovTribe

The GovTribe app lets ChatGPT work with GovTribe public-sector data from your conversation. Use it for questions such as:

  • Find federal opportunities related to a market, agency, keyword, or vendor.
  • Summarize a vendor's recent federal contracting activity.
  • Compare agencies, vendors, awards, or opportunity activity.
  • Explore competitors, teaming partners, and market patterns.

GovTribe MCP usage is credit-based. If you do not use the GovTribe app, it does not consume GovTribe credits.
