About this opportunity

The Alaska Court System is procuring mechanical upgrades for the Snowden Training Center located in Anchorage through a competitive sealed bidding process. The project, identified as ANC-C-25-0011, involves comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) system replacements, specifically focusing on heating piping and unit heater replacements in warehouse and training spaces. Key deliverables include demolishing existing MEP systems and installing new Modine unit heaters with specific BTU ratings for different warehouse zones, along with associated electrical and venting modifications. The project requires a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site inspection on April 22, 2025, at 12 pm, with all contractor questions due by April 30, 2025. Bid submissions are due on May 7, 2025, at 12:00 PM, with on-site work required to commence no later than June 23, 2025, and substantial completion expected within three months. Contractors must have a current Alaska business license, be registered under AS.08.18, and submit a bid bond or deposit of 5% for bids totaling $100,000 or more.

The procurement allows for Alaska bidder preferences, including advantages for Alaska-based businesses, Alaskans with disabilities, veterans, and Alaska product usage. While no specific set-aside designations for disadvantaged enterprises are explicitly stated, the bid documents emphasize local hiring requirements and compliance with Alaska Court System Procurement Guidelines. The project will require integration with existing training center infrastructure, with specific technical requirements including compliance with the 2018 International Fuel Gas Code, 2020 National Electric Code, and 2018 International Mechanical Code. Although a precise budget range is not specified, the detailed technical specifications and comprehensive system replacements suggest a substantial investment in modernizing the facility's mechanical systems. The Alaska Court System reserves the right to award some, none, or all bid alternates, providing flexibility in the contract award process.
