Notice text
This project includes the replacement of a single lane, 29-foot long single span steel girder bridge (Bridge #1) with a 49-foot long single span prefabricated steel girder bridge with steel decking and aggregate fill supported on spread footing foundations. The project also includes removal of a second out of service bridge (Bridge #2) which is approximately one-mile north of Bridge #1 on San Vicente Road. Bridge #2 consists of a 40-foot long single span structure with a timber deck on a steel railcar superstructure with two steel girders. The condition of the Bridge #2 has deteriorated to such an extent that the structure has been closed. Both bridges span San Vicente Creek. Access to the project sites is along San Vicente Road, a single lane, gravel road.
All of the work is occurring in natural resource sensitive areas. Timely completion of construction
will be crucial to minimize disruptions to BLM employees and partner agencies throughout construction and to achieve customer satisfaction. San Vicente Road is closed to public use (behind a locked gate) and will remain closed during construction.
