About this file
This document includes questions and answers regarding a solicitation by the Bureau of Land Management for the replacement of two bridges in California. The project involves replacing a 29-foot single span steel girder bridge with a 49-foot single span prefabricated steel bridge with steel decking and aggregate fill supported on spread footings. It also includes removing a second out of service 40-foot single span timber deck bridge on a deteriorated steel railcar superstructure. Both bridges span San Vicente Creek along San Vicente Road, a single lane gravel road that will remain closed during construction. Timely completion is required to minimize disruptions to BLM employees and partner agencies. The document provides guidance to refer to plan sheets and sections of the FP-14 specifications for bridge design requirements and load ratings.
