16. REMARKS
BLK 4. The contractor shall prepare (contractor format or In Accordance With (IAW) block 4 above) and submit the Interface Control Document(s) (ICDs) for the M917A3 base vehicle (system 1) Armor Capable M917A3 Vehicle(system 2), Armored M917A3 Vehicle
(system 3), with Underbody Blast Protection (UMP) (system 4). The ICD shall establish, define, and control interfaces and shall document detailed interface design definition between systems 1, 2, 3, and 4. The ICD shall document and track the necessary types of information required to effectively and fully define the interfaces (internal and external) between systems 4, 3, and 2 up through system 1, for the purpose of ensuring proper systems’ interfacing and fit. The ICD shall describe the purpose of each interface to another external system at a functional level. In particular, each system should be briefly summarized with special emphasis on the functionality related to the interface. If more than one external system is to be part of the interface being defined, then include additional sections/views at this level for each additional external system. The hardware and components of each system shall also be identified.
The ICD shall describe any limitations and constraints that have a significant impact on the systems’ interfaces. Such constraints may be imposed by any of the following
(the list is not exhaustive): Hardware and component materials and design, and environment; Interoperability requirements and End-user environment, if applicable.
The ICD shall describe any risks associated with the systems’ interfaces and shall proposed mitigation strategies. At a minimum the ICD shall identify and list all critical interfaces and dimensions between 1) the M917A3 armor capable vehicle and all appurtenances, cab door frames and openings, all window frames and openings, chassis and hang-on components, drive line components, all of which might be affected by the armor solution with UBP, 2) the armor solution and UBP and 3) all individual modular armor components. The ICD technical information shall contain complete key characteristics and data for the M917A3 with armor solution defining interface requirements, mounting and mating features and dimensions, and material composition for hardware provisions, all of which together will allow for successful performance, functionality and timely installation and removal of the armor solution and underbody blast protection on one M917A3 and from one M917A3 to another M917A3 vehicle IAW the
M917A3 Performance Specification (PS-M917A3). The ICD package shall include applicable drawings, lists, reports and associated supplemental technical information.
BLK 9. BLK 9: DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT D. Distribution authorized to Department of
Defense (DoD) and U.S. DoD contractors only. Administrative or Operational, 15 August
2016. Other requests may be referred to Program Manager Heavy Tactical Vehicles, 6501
