Truax Field, Wisconsin Questions/Answers Set 3 12 Apr 2023
Questions/Responses:
1. This is a sizable project across 3 different buildings. Is it possible to deliver to a central location and move material with a forklift between the buildings?
A. Yes. B510 is equipped with loading docks. See relative distance between each building on provided map.
2. Do you have a map you could provide to show how far apart they are?
A. Map provided.
3. Does each/any of the buildings have a dock for delivery of the LTL items that won’t come on a flat bed or will a ground drop or unloading from the back with a forklift be required?
A. B510 is equipped with docks.
4. There is no demo mentioned in this solicitation. If the material is going into a working warehouse will the area be free and clear prior to arrival to begin installation?
A. All Buildings are going through renovations/new additions and empty when beneficial occupancy is granted and equipment can be installed.
5. Appendix H – 3.5.1 Security Wire Shelving – Is there a capacity required for the shelves?
A. Shelves shall be minimum 400 pound capacity. Appendix H has been revised to update the Wire Mesh Security Unit requirements.
6. TPQ – Pallet Rack – Could you please clarify? 3.2.1 has shelf beam capacity listed as well as per bay capacity listed. Is the per bay capacity the total capacity of all the shelves between 2 uprights?
A. The question in the TPQ should read minimum UPRIGHT capacity. TPQ has been revised.
7. Are the three buildings referenced under construction and if so will construction be completed so that Delivery Requirements can be met?
A. Bldg. 506 is under renovation and getting a new addition. Scheduled BOD is Nov 23 timeframe. Bldg. 400 is under renovation and scheduled completion is Nov 23. Bldg. 409 is getting renovations but will not impact areas of installation.
8. Solicitation, Appendix A indicates there is an updated 3.21.2023 revision but when we open the 3.21.2023 document it appears to be the same as the original document. Please advise?
A. There was an error in the TPQ. The TPQ should read minimum upright capacity. TPQ has been revised. Revised Appendix A is attached.
9. In our market research, the 10K/463L fork truck has a delivery lead time of 48-52 weeks ARO. This is consistent with industry lead times we saw at the recent Promat trade show in Chicago after visiting several manufacturers. Solicitation requires 150 day delivery. Please advise.
A. We are aware of the potential lead time for the 463L Pallet Jack. Please identify in proposed schedule. If required, CLIN for 463L Pallet Jack will be revised accordingly.
10. In reviewing the drawings counting products, I realized there is cantilever in bldg. 510 in “existing emeds” and E48120 shelving in “existing loading dock.” It is assumed these are existing product, but want to verify since they are not marked as GFE.
A. They are not existing and required to be provided as shown on AF Drawing NWS912-01.
11. Para 3.2.1.1 of appendix B states the quantities of each cabinet to be provided but I have grossly different numbers I am coming up with. Can you please verify where the amounts given in the appendix came from? Counting the total number of cabinets for each type I have the following:
| Cabinet |

A. There is a discrepancy between the table in the Purchase Description and cabinets to be provided. A revised PD with correct numbers and locations for the cabinets will be forthcoming shortly.
12. Appendix B for the cabinets and workstations paragraph 3.3 calls for the ESD workstation to have a butcher block top, a butcher block top is not static guarded. Is this supposed to be a static guard top to make it ESD?
A. The butcher block is in error. A static guard ESD top is to be provided. PD will be updated.
13. Appendix B, Para 3.2.1 lists type G cabinet on casters to have 1 single deep drawer. This is a safety concern with our manufacturer. Would a cabinet with a bottom pan and a door be adequate or can we do a couple larger drawers?
A. The intent is to have one solid deep “bin” per se for the storage of bubble wrap and other packing materials. The workers in essence reutilized packing materials and desire a deep bin they can throw the packing material in and pull some out when needed.
