1. SCOPE
This appendix establishes the minimum performance, design, fabrication, delivery, and assembly for two (2) Aircraft Panel
Parts Racks, for Building 400, at Truax Field Wisconsin. The work shall be completed in accordance with this appendix, the Cover
Purchase Description (PD), and Figure 1 of this PD. This appendix covers all equipment, materials, and labor necessary to complete installation of the system.
2. REQUIREMENTS
2.1. SYSTEM DEFINITION
The two (2) aircraft panel parts rack shall be used to store and stage aircraft parts and components while awaiting assembly back onto the aircraft. The aircraft panel parts racks shall be Spika
Mfg. (www.spikamfg.com), SWM-Cowling Rack CWL62X120X86, or
Government approved equivalent. The aircraft panel parts racks shall provide safe separation of parts and be equipped with casters for movement within the maintenance hangar bay.
2.2. CHARACTERISTICS
2.2.1. RACK DIMENSIONS
Racks shall be nominal 120” long x 62” deep x 86” high.
2.2.2. PANEL PARTS RACK DESIGN
The aircraft panel parts racks shall be constructed of lightweight, corrosion resistant aluminum or powder coated steel. Plywood shelves shall be ¾” thick and covered in carpet or equivalent to protect the parts placed on and removed from the storage levels.
Each shelf shall have a minimum capacity of 225 pounds. Upright framing members shall also be protected by carpet, foam or equivalent to protect the parts. A relocatable partition shall be provided in a bay as shown in Figure 1. The panel parts racks shall be equipped with casters for smooth movement within the maintenance hangar. All four casters shall swivel and be provided with an anti-movement lock.

3. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS
3.1. INSPECTIONS
The system shall be inspected to verify that it meets all the requirements of sections 1 and 2 of this Purchase Description.
These inspections shall be completed as part of the system checkout test and again as a part of the quality conformance test.
3.2. TEST
The following tests shall be performed on the system as part of the system checkout test and again as a part of the quality conformance test.

1. A variety of parts shall be placed onto and removed from the panel parts racks. If the parts are susceptible to damage, the racks shall fail the test.
Shelf shall be loaded with a 225 pound object to test capability and measure any deflection.
2. Capabilities of the relocatable divider shall be demonstrated and locked into place in a minimum of three locations within the bay.
3 The panel parts racks shall be loaded and moved to test ease and ability of the casters. If the panel parts racks do not move freely in all direction, the racks shall fail the test.
