About this file

This document contains a construction cost estimate breakdown template and instructions for its completion. The template is to be used by contractors to provide a standardized format for submitting an itemized summary of estimated direct costs, labor hours, material quantities and unit pricing for a construction project. Contractors are to include supporting documentation for subcontractor costs and be prepared to submit certified cost or pricing data if required. Key details include breaking the project down into line items with descriptions, units of measure, quantities, material and labor unit costs and totals. Overhead, profit and bond percentages are calculated based on the direct cost subtotals.
