Substation Maintenance Site Visit Minutes 1515 Iceland Ave Bldg. 8500, Rm 150 Vandenberg AFB, CA 93437 15 October 2024

10:20AM-2:00PM PST

Attendees:

Substation E

1. Dennis Pakulski stated that it was okay for contractors to take pictures of the switchyards.

2. Dennis Pakulski stated that there are nine (9) switchyards, each have a switch house which is not apart of this requirement.

3. Dennis Pakulski stated that CES prescribes the maintenance/repairs/tasks that need to be done and how often to do the diagnostic and cleaning.

4. There is one (1) transformer and three (3) circuit breaker on this switchyard.

Substation A

1. There are two (2) transformers and no circuit breakers on this switchyard.

Main Switching Station

1. Air disconnects belong to VSFB, which is in the small rectangle fence. This is apart of this requirement along with everything within the big rectangle fence. The big power poles located outside these two fences belong to PG&E.

2. It is the contractor’s responsibility to keep a well lite switchyard, i.e., changing light bulbs.

Substation D

1. There are two (2) transformers and five (5) dry air circuit breakers on this switchyard.

2. Insulator decontamination will change based on the type of bushings/insulator.

Substation F

1. There are two (2) transformers and five (5) circuit breakers on this switchyard.

2. This is a tight yard to work within.

Substation B

1. There are three (3) transformers and seven (7) circuit breakers on this switchyard

Substation C

1. There is one (1) transformer and three (3) dry air circuit breakers on this switchyard.

2. The Contractor will need to have a vendor for gas, SF6 and nitrogen.

Substation K

1. There are two (2) transformers and five (5) SF6 circuit breakers on this switchyard.

2. This switchyard has a resister bank.

3. Contractor will have to use materials that don’t corrode, being so close to the ocean.

Substation N

1. Has ground neutral resister bank.

2. There are two (2) transformers and five (5) SF6 circuit breakers.
