About this file
This is an Irrigation Specifications and Requirements exhibit for Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. C007087 issued by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District for Landscape Maintenance Services. The document establishes comprehensive technical specifications and maintenance requirements for the contractor responsible for irrigating and maintaining the district's landscape systems. The contractor must repair and replace hydraulic irrigation components excluding controllers and the Cluster Control Unit, including sprinklers, valves, broken heads, and lines, using matching original manufacturers and models. All repairs must be completed within 24 hours unless pre-approved by the owner, and the contractor must perform weekly preventive maintenance inspections and submit weekly status reports along with monthly performance audits conducted jointly with the owner across random property areas to ensure system efficiency.
The specifications detail precise material and installation standards for all irrigation components, including specific Rainbird sprinkler head assemblies, purple color-pigmented PVC pipe with Class 200 or Schedule 40 ratings depending on application, ductile iron fittings meeting ASTM standards, Highline Products valve boxes with detection capabilities, three-step solvent weld joint procedures using NSF-approved products, and supplemental tree irrigation systems using specified spray emitters and tubing. The owner maintains control of irrigation scheduling and operation, which runs between 4 p.m. and 10 a.m. based on automatic weather-based calculations, while the contractor provides all supplies for repairs outbound of mainline valves and is responsible for weekly PM inspections of the entire system. Mainline breaks larger than 6 inches, isolation/gate valves, or mainlines deeper than 4 feet requiring shoring caused by parties other than the contractor are excluded from the base bid but may be performed on a lump sum or time-and-material basis upon owner approval.
