04/11/2006 - Per Infrastructure Engineers November 13, 2006 underwater inspection, the inspected substructure units are in fair to poor condition.

Between 80 and 90 percent of the timber piles have checks ranging in width from 1/8" up to 1". These checks are associated with general deterioration and minor section loss up to 5 percent. The southern piles of each bent are more severly deteriorated than the other piles in the bent. Several bents have more severe deterioration. Pile 4-4 has a 2 1/2" wide check located near the top of the pile. Pile 5-4 has a major split at the top of the pile, rendering it ineffective for carrying significant loads. Pile 8-1 has a 3" wide check. Pile 11-4 is irregularly shaped and has indications of internal decay.

03/28/2012 - Bridge was previously closed and still has barricades with panels at approximately 1/4 mile West and at the East bridge end(photos).

TH

12-3-12 I talked to Darin from Phillips County bridge crew and he said it is still closed but if weather permits they are planning on replacing the bridge with 3, 6' RCB culverts. TH

04/07/2010 - 5' underclearance to the water. TH Oct 20, 2011 Kent Barnes sent letter to County recommending bridge closure. TH Class 2 underwater inspection performed by Infrastructure Engineers on October 11th 2011. Serious pile issues and settlement of Bent 11 were noted. Based on the recommended changes to the pile element and the settlement smart flag, the substructure NBI rating (NBI 60)was lowered to 3-Serious. CRH 05/01/2008 - Hazard markers not spec.

04/11/2006 - Per Infrastructure Engineers November 13, 2006 underwater inspection, the inspected substructure units are in fair to poor condition.

The majority of the piles have minor checks and deterioration. Several of the piles have more severe deterioration. The most severly deteriorated pile is pile 4-5 with a split at the top of the pile, limiting its load carrying capacity for the bent. There is no significant local or general scour present at the bridge site. There is no significant restrictions in the channel that will adversely impact flow.
