Addendum to SOW

RFIs from previous solicitation:

Question: 2 - 2. Infection Control Will any Infection Control barriers need to be installed on this project? Is negative air required?

Q2 Answer: OEI Response … As this project has no access to patient areas, the design was not to include infection control barriers or negative air. As this is an infection control issue, the VA’s infection control should have the ultimate response on this … but we do not see this as applicable on this project.

This project is likely to be classified as a Class 2. As there will be some masonry and concrete demolition, care will need to be taken to minimize the impact of dust and debris to adjacent areas.

Question: 3 - 3. Section 010000-27, para 1.24 Is professional photography required?

Q3 Answer: OEI Response … Language in this section is the standard language from the VA standard spec. Paragraph 1.24.C states, “Images shall be taken by a commercial photographer and must show …”

As this is from the VA’s standard language, VA would need to state whether or not that requirement could be waived.

Good and clear photos will be required; no need for professional photography.

Question: 4 - 4. Section 014500-6, para 3.4 Normally on VA projects, the superintendent can perform SSHO duties in addition to Quality Control Manager duties. This reduces the cost of the project considerably. Is that acceptable on this project? Please keep in mind that a full staff for a smaller project of this nature is difficult to fill due to the current market conditions.

Q4 Answer: OEI Response … Engineer has no objections to the recommendation to have the superintendent perform SSHO and QCM responsibilities, given the relative size of this project.

The VA concurs.

Question: 5 - 5. Scope of Work, 2.2B.iv This states: ‘VA shall be responsible for removal of all ACM, if any shall exist. Please see PSI asbestos survey/inspection. Any ACM left out of this report is the contractor’s responsibility to abate and remove.’ How can a contractor quantify and bid unknown amounts of ACM abatement not in the report? This is an unreasonable requirement. If any additional ACM is discovered this should be handled as a contract modification. Please clarify.

Q5 Answer: OEI Response … We would tend to concur that this not biddable. We would recommend that the referenced sentence should be changed from:

“Any ACM left out of this report is the contractor’s responsibility to abate and remove.”

to

“Any ACM left out of this report still must be removed under this project. If unreported ACM is found, the Contractor shall notify the Contracting Officer’s Representative and request clarification. If the Contractor is required to remove unreported ACM, the Contractor shall provide a change order for these additional services.”

The VA concurs.

Question: 6 - 6. Clearances What is the overhead clearance height and width of the covered area between the loading dock and the Water Softener room?

Q6 Answer: !! TBD !!

VA: I am still waiting on an answer for clearances, but there should be nothing in the way of the contractors.

A/E: We are showing the opening to the tunnel as being 17’-9” tall and 34’-7” wide (approximately – based on the information we have available).

Question: 7 - Hazardous Materials Are we to dispose/abate of any asbestos, lead, mold or other hazardous material as part of this project? If so, provide appropriate hazardous material site survey report.

Q7 Answer: OEI Response … Contractor should reference question and response under bidders’ Question #5 herein.

Question: 8 - ICRA What will the ICRA level be for this project?

Q8 Answer: OEI Response … 01 32 16.15, Para 1.12.B states that, “The primary project scope area for this project is Class II …” It should be noted that OEI did not receive any feedback from the VA on any infection control review. The Class II designation was provided per our evaluation of the standards; however, the VA’s infection control group is supposed to provide the ultimate evaluation/designation. We would recommend Infection Control group reviews the project scope/location and provides a response to this.

Expect a Class II.

Question: 9 - Laydown Will a laydown area be provided for stored materials?

Q9 Answer: OEI Response … given the limited space at the location, we did not identify a material storage area in the drawings. Our notes indicate that this should be coordinated/determined by the COR. There is likely going to be some materials storage required, including some temp storage of relocated equipment during demo/construction.

VA would need to identify an acceptable location or instruction the contractor to plan for off-site if the space is too restricted.

A laydown area outside of the workspace will not be provided.

Question: 10 - Working Hours May all work for this project be done during regular business hours?

Q10 Answer: OEI Response … this needs to come from VA. Our design did not require after-hours work.

All work, with the exception of outages, can be done during regular business hours. Other work which may impact day to day operations may have to be performed outside regular business hours.

Question: 11 - Requesting 420 day completion period

Supplier indicates there is a 7 month procurement time for the equipment. The current 6 month performance period is not sufficient for the performance of the work.

Requesting the performance period be increased to 420 days to allow for submittals, submittal review, VA Review, procurement and construction.

Q11 Answer: Brian … I believe our response on lag times that we provided to you addresses this already. 420 calendar days seems excessive from what we heard, but it does look like the time needs to be extended.

CO: Refer to Answer to Q1 Answer. If the Period of Performance is extended, it will be posted in an Amendment.

Period of Performance is 300 days.

Question: 12 - Warranty Period

Solicitation Paragraph L calls for a 3 year warranty from both the manufacturer and installer including parts and labor to include normal, premium or holiday hours. Assume this is in reference to the water softener equipment and the balance of the project has a standard 1 year warranty. Please confirm.

Q12 Answer: Yes, this was design intent for the longer warranty on any purchased equipment only.

Question: 13 - Warranty Period Question #2 Please clarify if the 3 year warranty on the water softener system is correct or if it should be 1 year as is typical.

Q13 Answer: Same response as goes with Question 12

Question: 14 - Existing Brine Pit Depth (height) Details 1 and 2 on SB501 show filling the existing brine tank with flowable fill, but a depth is not provided. What is the depth (thickness) of the flowable fill bidders should assume for pricing purposes?

Q14 Answer: As-built information would need to come from the VA. The AE did not receive any as-builts on the existing tank, so we have nothing definitive to provide.

CO: If there are As-Builts on existing tank, it will be provided in an Amendment

Question: 15 - Interior Height of Brine Tank Please provide the interior height of the existing brine tank, reference plan details on

SB501.

Q15 Answer: As-built information would need to come from the VA. The AE did not receive any as-builts on the existing tank, so we have nothing definitive to

Question: 16 - Requesting As-Built Drawings of the Brine Tank Please provide as-built drawings of the existing brine tank construction, reference plan sheet SB501.

Q16 Answer: As-built information would need to come from the VA. The AE did not receive any as-builts on the existing tank, so we have nothing definitive to

Question: 17 - Existing Brine in the Brine Tank Please confirm that the VA will remove and dispose of the existing brine in the brine tank. If this is not the case and the contractor is responsible for brine removal, please indicate amount of brine to be removed and information about the existing brine concentration.

Q17 Answer: This wasn’t expressly identified as part of design. AE would recommend this be done by VA to minimize contractor markup on this, given we have a lot of unknowns with the brine tank. If VA is unable to provide, AE doesn’t have any information about current state of brine in that tank.

CO: Information on Removal and Disposal of existing Brine will be confirmed in an Amendment

VA: the VA does not have the manpower for this. This will be done by the contractor in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws.

Q18 Answer: Seems like this question is already asked and answered from previous amendment. Don’t believe there is anything to add with this.

CO: Refer to Q5 and Q7 answer

Question: 18 - Haz Materials We understand from the Amendment 1&2 Q&A that there are no hazardous materials to be abated (asbestos, lead, etc), but that if encountered, it will be by modification to contract.

If this is not a correct understanding, please clarify otherwise to all bidders by amendment.

Question: 19 - Requesting Structural As-Builts Plan indicate the existence of a structural column in the water softener room which is to have slab replacements. Are there existing footings associated with the existing column?

Can structural as-built drawings be provided of this room?

Q19 Answer: VA needs to provide structural as-builts. All we show as being applicable are I-P70, I-S72, I-S76 & I-S80. (As you recall, as-built info was minimal.)

As far as the existing column, there is a concrete pilaster beneath the column which is depicted in detail 6/S80. Plinth extends to a pier below.

CO: If there are Structural As-Builts for the Water Softener Room, it will be provided in an Amendment

Question: 20 - New Grade Beam Details Phasing Plan G-004 note Phase 3 indicates “Repair Grade Beams…” while bid form and alternates on the plans indicate demo and replace grade beams as noted on detail 1/S-100 Demolition Plan. Is the requirement to replace grade beams to equal the existing grade beams depicted on plan details 1 and 2/S-501?

Q20 Answer: The intent was to remove and replace grade beams that are revealed to be damaged as determined by structural EOR, after slab is removed to facilitate inspection of the subject beams. The removal and replacement of beams is address by add alternates to ensure that pricing is in place should replacement be required. If removal and replacement is required, these grade beams will be re-built to match existing configuration and reinforcement.

Question: 21 - Work Required between new Replacement Grade Beam and Existing Adjacent Grade Beams?

There are no new details of grade beam replacements. Is there any work required between the new replacement grade beam and the existing adjacent gradebeams? If yes, please provide plan details showing the scope of this work (if any).

Q21 Answer: Where grade beams are required to be replaced, as determined by structural EOR, the grade beams will be rebuilt to the original configuration and reinforcement. Where these are only partially demolished (west end of north beam), the demolish such that exist top and bottom bars from portion of beam to remain extends and laps new reinforcing by 48 bar diameters. Where these beams currently frame into transverse beams at ends, leave top and bottom reinforcing intact at ends of beams so that the new reinforcing bars may lap the existing bars by 24 inches. Further, the chipped out surface of the beams against which the new beam will adjoin, would be coated with an approved bonding agent prior to pouring the new beams.

Question: 22 - 6" slab on vapor barrier Plans indicate a new 6” slab on vapor barrier over existing grade at the new water softener room. If any work is required to be done at the existing grade, please clarify to all by amendment (none shown).

Q22 Answer: There are no planned adjustments to existing grade beneath slab, under base bid. However, should removal and replacement of existing grade beams be required under alternates, this would also entail earthwork in this area as required to accomplish the beam replacements and reestablish soil grade below slab.

Question: 23 - Request for Structural and Architectural As-Built Drawings at Water Softener Room Please provide structural and architectural as-built drawings of the water softener room including foundation & slab, masonry walls, structure above.

Q23 Answer:

Water Softener Room as-builts should be provided by the VA.

CO: If there are As-Builts for Water Softener Room, it will be provided in an Amendment

Question: 24 - Please confirm that Alt#2 Adjacent Northern Wall is Existing to Remain per the contract drawings Alternate #2 indicates to provide replacement of slab underneath the medical vacuum equipment and adjacent northern wall of the medical vacuum equipment as shown on the plans. The plans do not show replacing the 10’-0 ½” adjacent northern wall, reference details 2/S100, 2A101, 1/A-102. We understand that the 10’-0 ½” adjacent North Wall (near column line 15) is existing to remain per the referenced plan details unless clarified otherwise by amendment. If this 10-0 1/2” section of wall is to be replaced by alternate #2, please provide plan details to show the requirements.

Q24 Answer: That portion of the grade beam that is beneath the remaining north wall will not be removed and replaced, and will remain as is.

Question: 25 - Grade Beams and Existing to Remain Masonry Wall We understand that grade beams under existing to remain masonry walls are not to be replaced, specifically the portion of the North Wall grade beam adjacent to the medical vacuum equipment. If this is not a correct understanding, please clarify otherwise to all bidders. Reference plan details 2/S100, 2/A101 and 1/A102 and previous question.

Q25 Answer: Portions of the grade beam that are underneath wall sections that are to remain will also remain.

Question: 26 - Need routing for power to be shown for KN3/ES101 including an U/G Trench Detail Keynote 3/ES101 states “Route 480V/3PH Power from MCC-B2-14D in the basement area and brine day tank level sensor signal to the brine transfer pump skid control panel.” This layout does not seem to be depicted on the drawings? There are also no underground trench cut section plan details provided for this work if any is required. Please provide routing of the electrical underground trench and a trench detail if required for this project.

Please provide the layout required for the underground electrical and indicate where it transitions to overhead. Please also indicate what existing utilities are located in the underground trench portion of the work.

Q26 Answer: Exact routing is considered within Contractor’s means and methods.

All identified underground utilities are provided on drawings. SUE investigations were not conducted as part of this design, so other underground utilities may be within construction area. Contractor will need to field verify utility locations and notify COR if any conflict is identified.

No need for trenching has been identified in the design. If Contractor decides to provide routing that uses trenching, the Contractor may submit a recommended trenching detail for Engineer’s review and approval.

Question: 27 - Height of Existing Walls to be Demolished Height of North Wall demolition appears to be approx 18'-8" per new detail 1/S501. What is the height of the East and South existing walls to be demolished?

Q27 Answer: Approx. 14 feet (to be field verified per details 2 & 3 of S501).

Question: 28 - Existing Fuels to be Removed?

Civil note 7 on G-003 states “Existing fuels shall be removed and disposed of offsite, per Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations.” We find no indication of any existing fuels to be removed from the site. If any existing fuels are required to be removed, please clarify with location, quantities and type of fuel by amendment to all bidders.

Q28 Answer: Brian … I don’t think we had any evidence of fuels on-site during our evaluation. This is more of a general note for civil to make sure anything found on site isn’t disposed of improperly. I don’t know if the VA would prefer to say nothing was found or if we were to say maybe this was to cover incidental existing fuels found as part of the demolition and not any large quantities or fuel storage. If you leave it open ended like that, it all gets handled but you may also get larger bids to accommodate that.

VA: We find no indication of any existing fuels to be removed from the site.

Question: 29 - Length of Temporary Ramp We understand from detail 2/G-004 that a portion of the Temporary Water Softener Piping is to be laid on the surface of the ground with a temporary ramp provided over the piping to be located near the temporary water softener skid. What is the intended length of temporary ramp required?

Q29 Answer: This is to be developed as part of Contractor’s means and methods.

Question: 30 - Location of temporary Vacuum Skid is currently occupied Detail 3 on G-004 shows the approximate location & footprint of temporary medical vacuum equipment and skid. This location seems to be occupied currently with a temporary compressed air skid? Will the existing skid be removed prior to this project? If not, where should the temporary vacuum skid be located while maintaining access to the project site (Water Softener Room).

Q30 Answer: Brian … design intent was for existing stuff in this area to be relocated by the VA to make room for construction. If the VA wants to pay the contractor to relocate this stuff, that would need to come from your direction.

CO: Information on location on temporary vacuum skid will be confirmed in an Amendment

VA: The location for the temporary vacuum skid will be cleared by the time the project begins.

Question: 31 - Masonry Details If there is any attachment required between new masonry walls and existing adjacent masonry walls, please provide plan details by amendments to all bidders.

Q31 Answer: There is no attachment between new and existing walls.

Question: 32 - CMU Braces Detail 2 and 3/S-501 shows bracing CMU walls to structure at 8’-0” o.c. max. Please provide plan details of these supports which indicate their sizing and thickness so that the correct material can be priced.

Q32 Answer: A/E: Brace top of wall with 3.625”x1.625”x20Ga studs at 8’-0” o.c. Position brace at approx. 1:1 slope and attached to CMU wall and concrete slab above with (2) 3/16” dia. x 1.25” long concrete screws each end.

Question: 33 - Limits of Retaining Wall Repair Alternate #1 requires repair to the Retaining Wall (West wall) and depicts the boundary of repair by a dashed line on detail 2/S-100. The retaining wall has extensive damage located outside the limits of the dashed line on 2/S-100. If these areas also require repair, please revise detail 2/S-100 to indicate the limits of the required repairs.

Q33 Answer: Scope for retaining wall repairs is limited to the area depicted.

Additional repairs to the retaining wall are outside of this project.

Question: 34 - Request for Drain Pit to Slab Details Plan sheet S-100 requires demolition of the floor slab but seems to indicate the existing drain pit is to remain? If a new drain pit is required, please provide sufficient new details for the drain pit. If the drain pit is to remain, please provide details indicating how it attaches or does not attach to the new slab.

Q34 Answer: Brian … not sure how you want to address this. We do not have pictures as to what is below that grate. The little bit of as-built info we have seem to indicate there is some sort of sump/pit there with piping, and we would expect that sump to probably be concrete. But as far as exact info on the piping, how the sump is connected to the slab, etc. … we don’t really have info in any way.

One approach would be that they just assume all they have to repair is the floor drain and the applicable slab, and if there is any understructure that ties to it that also requires repair, notify the COR. Not sure if that’s how you want to go with it or not.

Question: 35 - Storm Manhole located near Water Softener Room Just outside the existing double doors to the Water Softener Room is a curb with a raised slab with an electrical cord going down into it. Plumbing plans show an existing storm manhole at this location. The underground portion of this structure is not identified on the plans. Please provide plan details indicating how close the underground manhole/box is to the wall and slab being replaced. Does the existing storm drain / box go under the wall or slab being replaced?

Q35 Answer: AE did not receive as-builts on the storm drain system, so we can’t answer this accurately. Our understanding is that the as-builts don’t exist / aren’t available.

CO: If there are As-Builts for storm drain system, it will be provided in an Amendment

Q36 Answer: As-builts would need to come from the VA. AE did not receive any as-builts of this storm drain system during design – our understanding they probably don’t exist.

CO: If there are As-Builts for storm drain system, it will be provided in an Amendment

Question: 37 - Extensive MEP (not shown) currently mounted to walls being demolished There is extensive mechanical, plumbing, electrical (including very large conduit)… mounted to the walls being demolished and replaced which are not identified on the contract drawings as needing temporary or permanent support. If any is required, please indicate such by amendment to all bidders.

Q37 Answer: Unless otherwise indicated in drawings, all existing MEP components mounted to walls are to remain. These elements are to be temporarily supported as required by contractor during construction until wall is reconstructed and final attachments are made.

Q38 Answer: Structural drawings show an L-4 lintel at the new opening for relocated fan.

Question: 39 - New Exhaust Fan?

Detail note # 2 on sheet M - 101 references a possible new fan. But there is no fan schedule listed on any mechanical sheets. Please advise on what is required ?

Question: 36 - Requesting Storm Drain As-Built Drawings Requesting as-built drawings of the storm drain system in the vicinity of the water softener system room.

Question: 38 - Exhaust Fan Location Wall fan is shown to be relocated into the existing to remain wall on detail 1/A-102. A large hole in the existing masonry wall will be required which is not shown on the contract drawings. Can a plan detail be provided including any steel lintel details if required? This fan was originally on the other side of the North wall. Is it not possible to locate the fan closer to it's original location in a portion of the new CMU wall (adjacent to the overhead door)?

Q39 Answer: Design intent is to reuse existing fan that is being relocated. For purposes of bid, assume existing fan is in good condition and can be reused. If contractor determines that the fan requires replacement, he would notify Contracting Officer’s Rep and request direction for a modification on new fan unit.

Question: 40 - Brine Discharge Piping Materials What piping materials can be used for the brine discharge piping from the softeners to the trench drain and the daily brine tank to the softeners ? Sch 80 CPVC ?

Q40 Answer: A/E: Piping requirements are provided in technical specification 22 31 11.

Q41 Answer: A/E: See updated manufacturer’s cut sheet for standard duplex unit. Manufacturer indicates the overall length on skid would now be 22’-8”. Manufacturer also states there may be room to eliminate 4 inches in length during installation. (Include the PDF GA Drawing S5103-202P-(M- GA01)-V112030276-01_4.PDF.)

Question: 42 - Existing Brine Tank Details Please provide details of the brine tank including, but not limited to, depth, and wall and floor construction

Q42 Answer: As-built information would need to come from the VA. The AE did not receive any as-builts on the existing tank, so we have nothing definitive to

Question: 41 - Water Softener Equipment Layout Exceed Available space in the Room?

Plan sheet P103 shows the water softener tanks fitting in the room with the water softener tank skids measuring (by plan scale) to around 22’-5”, but the dimensions shown on sheet P-502 for the new water softener skids total an overall length (when added together) of 26’-2” which exceed the space in the room (between wall and medical vacuum equipment) as shown on plan sheet P103. Note, the med vacuum equipment includes the hashed columns in front of the vacuum equipment pad. If P-502 dimensions are correct, please provide pre-bid to all bidders, a revised layout of the water softener equipment within the room which fits between the wall and the existing equipment to remain. We assume any revisions to the water softener equipment layout will be by contract modification, if not provided pre-bid to all bidders.

Question: 43 - Existing inwall electrical in CMU walls scheduled to be Replaced From the site visit it was seen that there is in wall electrical including power receptacles in the CMU walls scheduled to be demolished and replaced. Please review and provide electrical drawings showing what electrical work is required (demolition and new) at these replaced masonry walls if any.

Q43 Answer: Design intent is for contractor to demolish electrical receptacles in demolished walls and reinstall in new walls in same or similar locations.

Question: 44 - Existing VA Materials in the Brine Yard Outside There are existing items being stored in and around the existing Brine Yard outside. These items include wood pallets, metal stud and track, metal rods, unistrut, miscellaneous healthcare equipment, filled trash bags and other items. Please confirm all of these items will be removed by the VA prior to NTP.

Q44 Answer: Brian … design intent was for existing stuff in this area to be relocated by the VA to make room for construction. If the VA wants to pay the contractor to relocate this stuff, that would need to come from your direction.

CO: Information on existing materials in Brine Yard will be confirmed in an Amendment

VA: Items currently stored in and around the Brine Yard will be removed by the time the project starts.

Question: 45 - Existing Guard at Brine Yard There is an existing guard shack located directly adjacent to the existing pumps at the Brine Yard which will interfere with the construction of this project. Guard Shack is not shown on the contract drawings. Please confirm it will be relocated by the VA prior to NTP.

Q45 Answer: A/E: This would be a VA action, so response needs to come from VA. Intent during design was for all portable items that are conflicting with installation to be relocated as needed.

VA: Guard Shack is not being used it is temporarily stored there it will be moved before construction.

Question: 46 - Interior Signage?

Please clarify if the old plastic signs on the CMU walls being demolished are also to be demolished. They may or may not survive removal from the wall without damage. If new signage is required for the project, please provide plan details, locations and message required.

Q46 Answer: These weren’t included in our design scope. We would recommend that VA directs that any new signage would be provided and installed by the VA, but that ultimately needs to come from you.

CO: Information on Interior Signage will be confirmed in an Amendment VA: Any new signs that are required will be taken care of by the VA

Question: 47 - Basis of Design Epoxy Wall Product?

Can the architect please provide a basis of design manufacturer and model of the Epoxy Wall Product being required?

Question: 49 - Conduit Requirements The standard electrical conduit and boxes specifications do not make note of any special (corrosive) environments, other than NEMA 4 (not 4X) construction should be used at the brine pump skid. We assume EMT may be used indoor and in the water softener room, and that GRC conduit should be used above ground on the exterior unless clarified otherwise by amendment. If a different conduit material is required due to the corrosive environment, please indicate type and locations required by amendment to all bidders.

Q49 Answer: Assumptions are correct. No amendment is required.

Question: 50 - Request for Engineer's Structural Analysis for removal of portions of foundation Please provide the Engineer’s Structural Analysis for removal of portions of the foundation.

Q50 Answer: Brian … because our scope was to repair existing foundation/wall elements, no structural calcs were performed on this. We’re just going back to match the existing components.

VA: No structural analysis available

Q51 Answer: No, CMU walls are non-loadbearing and only support incidental non- structural elements such as conduit and piping

Question: 52 - Height of Existing Walls What are the heights of the masonry and brick walls to be removed (tops are concealed by drywall or plaster ceilings).

Q52 Answer: Reference response to Q27.

Question: 54 - Temp Ramp Length We understand from detail 2/G-004 that a portion of the Temporary Water Softener Piping is to be laid on the surface of the ground with a temporary ramp provided over the piping to be located near the temporary water softener skid. What is the intended purpose of the temporary ramp which would determine length required?

Question: 51 - Are existing CMU Walls load bearing?

Are the CMU walls to be removed load bearing?

Q54 Answer: A/E: The piping is to be supported by being laid directly on the ground for the entirety of the run. Ramp is shown to prevent damage to piping by being no support as placed directly on top of crossing lines. There are no design requirements for ramp. Intent is just to provide a smooth transition over the piping.

Question: 55 - CMU Wall Bracing Answer that was copy pasted for Question 32 is not related to the Question. Question is being asked again. Detail 2 and 3/S-501 shows bracing CMU walls to structure at 8’-0” o.c. max.

Please provide plan details of these supports which indicate their sizing and thickness so that the correct material can be priced.

Q55 Answer: A/E: See response to Question #32 above.

Question: 56 - Storm Manhole/Box Question: 35 - Storm Manhole located near Water Softener Room Just outside the existing double doors to the Water Softener Room is a curb with a raised slab with an electrical cord going down into it. Plumbing plans show an existing storm manhole at this location. The underground portion of this structure is not identified on the plans. AE/VA indicate in response #35 that information is not available regarding this manhole/box. We assume that the manhole box is outside of the slab/grade beams and that no work associated with this manhole/box is required and that if existing condition is found to be different, it would be considered a differing site condition.

Q56 Answer: A/E: The question accurately summarizes the design intent. We would concur that anything different from what is described should be considered differing site condition.

Question: 57 - Brine Tank Height (follow up question) Brine tank is shown to be filled with flowable fill, but height of tank dimension was not provided in Q&A#15. Response to Question: 15 - Interior Height of Brine Tank indicated that the AE did not receive as-built drawings of the Brine Tank and the VA would provide them if available. In the event the VA finds As-Builts are not available, what height should bidders assume?

Q57 Answer: A/E: If no as-builts are provided by VA, bidders should assume a height of 9 feet. If as-builts are provided, bid should be based on the as-built information provided.

Question: 58 - Follow up Question to Q&A#41 Will New Water Softener Equipment fit in the Water Softener Room?

Response provided to Question #41 was not related to the question. Re-posting Question #41 Plan sheet P103 shows the water softener tanks fitting in the room with the water softener tank skids measuring (by plan scale) to around 22’-5”, but the dimensions shown on sheet P-502 for the new water softener skids total an overall length (when added together) of 26’-2” which exceed the space in the room (between wall and medical vacuum equipment) as shown on plan sheet P103.

Q58 Answer: A/E: Unclear as to what response bidder is referring, because we hadn’t provided a response yet. See response to Question #41 above.
