Solicitation No. 36C25024B0058
1. Details 02 and 03 on sheet AE320 show an “electric fireplace insert; refer to specs”.
There is no specification provided for the electric fireplace insert. Can a specification be provided or a basis of design for the fireplace insert?
- Response: The basis of design product for the electronic virtual fireplace is to be similar and equal to Dimplex Opti-V Duet Virtual Fireplace, model number VF5452L.
2. Detail 06/AE320 call out a wood and epoxy flag. We are having difficulty finding resources that specialize in the production of this type. Is there a specific supplier or manufacturer responsible for the basis of design of the wood/epoxy flag? Please advise on a supplier or manufacturer for the wood/epoxy flag.
- Response: The wood/epoxy flag is a custom piece of millwork, and there is no standard supplier or manufacturer for that element. The flag will need to be built by a custom millwork/furniture shop with experience in custom wood and epoxy furniture.
3. Detail 04/AI520 shows a pre-manufactured bird enclosure. Can additional specification/details or basis of design be provided for the manufactured bird enclosure?
- Response: The basis of design pre-manufactured bird enclosure product is to be similar and equal to Majestic Bird Enclosures, model number MB05 Bird Cage 60”H x 60”L x 36’D, Ultimate Package.
4. The architectural drawings call for GL1 existing glass to receive new tinted film. The specs only show all the potential options listed for the 3M Prestige product. Please specify which window film is required.
- Response: The Architect/Engineer Team cannot specify the final window selection at this time, as the product is listed as a brand name or equal in the specifications. The contractor shall coordinate and confirm the final film selection with the COR and with input from the architect. The contractor shall provide product data and physical verification samples per Section 08 87 13 Sun Control Window Film, Paragraph 1.6 Submittals.
5. The electric fireplace shown on drawing AE320 Detail 02 doesn't appear to have a spec.
Will you be requiring a certain model or manufacturer or is it at the installers/furnishers discretion?
- Response: The basis of design product for the electronic virtual fireplace is to be similar and equal to Dimplex Opti-V Duet Virtual Fireplace, model number VF5452L.
6. Where is the signage scope located? I looked at the elevations and electrical and do not see it.
- Response: The scope of the signage is limited to the installation of a dedication plaque to be provided by the VA. Signage information can be referenced on drawing sheet ID700 –
FIRST FLOOR FINISH PLANS, KEY, & DETAILS.
7. The referenced specification section calls for a SSHO to be a separate qualified individual from the Prime Contractors Superintendent and/or Quality Control Manager with duties only as the SSHO. Please confirm this requirement or can the project Superintendent fulfill the SSHO duties under this contract?
- Response: The requirement is as written in the Solicitation.
8. The referenced specification section calls for a CQC Manager to be a graduate engineer, graduate architect, or graduate of construction management, with a minimum of 5 years construction experience on construction similar to the scope of this project. Please confirm the education requirements for the CQC Manager or is adequate construction experience alone enough to fulfill this requirement?
- Response: The requirement is as written in the Solicitation.
9. The “Bid Schedule” provided seems to be in refence to another project. Please provide the appropriate bid schedule highlighting any bid alternates.
- Response: Correct Bid Schedule has been posted in the Solicitation on July 9th.
