About this file

This document contains questions and answers related to a solicitation for the installation of a generator at a Veterans Affairs medical facility. The scope of work includes installing a 1,000 kW Tier 4 diesel generator with an enclosed weatherproof housing, sub-base fuel tank, and associated automatic transfer switch and conduits. The generator will provide backup power and be monitored through the facility's building management system. Temporary power from the local utility will be required during construction. Submittals and long-lead equipment orders will need to be expedited due to the desire to minimize downtime. This requirement is 100% set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. A pre-bid site visit is scheduled for August 12, 2021. Clarification is provided on specifications, manufacturers, commissioning responsibilities, and alternative technical approaches.
